Automatically gets a thumbs down for not having a tutorial. I always feel like a game doesn't value my time when they're too lazy to release a game that I've paid for which doesn't include a tutorial. I don't care that it's Early Access, it's a game for which I've spent money. If the developer doesn't think teaching their players to play the game they released is important, I couldn't care less about learning it. I'm not interested in spending hours learning how to play their game before playing it.
Its very early and developed by one person with a budget smaller then my allowance during all 4 years of high school combined. That probably isn't true though. Anyway, this game is a gem, and will be a gem in the future. Yes, turn your music off asap or adjust using your systems audio mixer, that is a bit of feedback that can be acted on. At the core this game is charming, you have a deadline you need to meet, an owner that can get angry with you, but also praise you. I imagine it is as similar to managing a news paper in the late 90's was, and a news website today is. This is after all a simulation. You are meant to scroll around and search for things. Leads for advertisers or stories don't just magically show up in an organized list until someone collects it and gets it to the reporter pool. Personally I'd like to zoom out, or maybe make the icons at the top highlight something specific, but, again that defeats the purpose of having to scour city for the next hot news! You are meant to read things here. You are expected to remember things, the game will remind you of what stories someone likes and their political leaning, only if you read it. You are expected to be undecided on the news paper layout until you get a grasp at what is selling well to your audience. It is fine to get it wrong a few times, the game will reward you when you did well but also punish you after many failures. The point is that you learn to work around the problem that is presented. The entire point of any game. TL/DR: If you like simulators and like seeing a game develop over time, worth it. If you want a finished product from something clearly labeled early access then move along because you don't get what early access is.
This game is a bit overpriced but its pretty fun.
There is so many tiny little things you have to do in this game and it really ruins the experience. You cannot automate almost any part and it is way too overly specific.
This is the game I’ve been waiting for, for a while. I love the concept of running a newspaper, and I love that it’s dated back into the 90’s. For me the game play is addictive and I find time flys by when I’m playing. The developer is so pleasant if you’re having an issue in the game which makes the experience even better knowing that you’ll get proper support. 10/10
frequently crashes
Tonnes of depth and hours of engaging gameplay. Would love to be able to zoom out on the map.
Unfortunately I have to advise against buying the game. It is simply a scam. I could play the game for 11 minutes until it crashed. Since then it can no longer be started and is unplayable. So I contacted the developer and sent him the error message. More than 2.5 months have passed since the message and there is not a single feedback from the developer. So I would like to give an absolute warning before buying and consider it a fraud. Unfortunately Steam cannot refund the purchase price because more than two weeks have passed since the purchase.
Would give this a positive review if the game could zoom out of the map and not crash after playing for 20 mins
