There are no players, no tutorial, custom games are available but the bot movement is wonky. It doesn't have the nice directional sound system you would expect. Disappointed - because the game lore looks and sounds really good.
cash grab, gameplay is nothing like what is shown in the video, bot reviews
I've been following this game for a while during it's development, and as much as I hate to leave a negative review, I think that criticism is very important to the potential of this game succeeding. I'm always excited to see new asym games arise, and Altarium was no exception. The game looks very high quality, and for the most part, (at least when it comes to the graphics) it is. It's obvious that the developers put effort into making the game. But the real concern is whether they're willing to keep that same effort after release. This game has a lot of issues that should have been addressed before launch, so it's important that the developers get to fixing them ASAP.

First off, the game runs terribly. This is consistent with a lot of other players, who have stated that they're averaging anywhere from 30 to 40 fps on medium to high settings. I personally have an RX 6750 XT w/ Ryzen 7 and I can barely reach 60fps in a lot of the areas unless I'm on very low settings. Fixing the performance should be a top priority before anything else.
Second, the gameplay is incredibly confusing for both sides and is only explained with a single splash screen before each match. This is the closest you'll get to a tutorial in this game. I can't say that it's helpful information either, because what it gives you is quite vague in explaining how the game works. This game desperately needs a full tutorial at some point.
Finally, the player count. I didn't expect this game to have a large player count going in, but I think it should definitely be something to look into later. Once the developers can get the main issues with the game sorted out, they need to advertise this game as much as possible. Otherwise the game is most certainly dead.
The current state of this game is not good. I think it would have been better to delay the release of the game if it meant fixing a lot of these issues. I'm hopeful for the future of the game, but I'm unsure if the developers feel the same way. I'll wait a week to see if any of these issues get addressed. Otherwise, it's worthy of a refund.
Bad bad dead game. Dont even try to read reviews, its all bots.
It really surprises me that this game has turned into a dead game on the first/second day of its release. My first game matching took me 10+ minutes just to find 3 or 4 more players. DO NOT BUY, this game is literally DEAD.
There are some interesting ideas in the game and some kinda cool gameplay mechanics however there are a lot of uninteresting boring gameplay loops that could be VASTLY simplified. There are far too many searchables and 90% are empty, probably about 100+ interactable chests/drawers to be opened and probably only probably about 15 items in the game. Currently the player count is too low to realistically play a full match with 4 survivors so attempting to open 100+ interactables while trying to avoid the killer who doesn't have much of an indicator. It's basically impossible to escape the killer as theres no visual indicator that hes nearby and the heartbeat doesn't help as by the time you hear it, hes already attacking. Then there are the doors, all opening in inconsistent ways is just straight up annoying, as they open in your face and becomes a obstacle easily trapping most players inside a building if they haven't pre-opened all the doors. In order for the gameplay to feel smoother, they need to get rid of the damn drawers with the teeny tiny interactable hit box and if you don't open them in the right order you can't even see inside them. Even if you are able to open an escape, you still need to juice the crystal 4 times in an small enclosed zone which the killer can easily capture you. Overall, although I like the idea of a point and click search experience against the clock vs a killer, the actual gameplay loop needs to be vastly simplified and obstacle movements need to be consistent to even make it remotely fair for a survivor to try to escape.
I couldn't tell you anything about the game because not enough people own it to populate the player queue. This game needs a lot more attention and players before it's recommendable. I *guess* if you have 4 friends, and they all want to spend $30 on a concept of a game, then you might be able to do custom lobbies. Good luck..
The gameplay was enjoyable, the graphics were nice, and I had a lot of fun with my friends. You can easily pick it up and play with your friends!
