Very good game that is quite unique in what it does. When I first tried it years ago, I didn't like it as much, but since then a new game mode has been added that, at least to me, makes it feel more like a deck building battler. The highlight of the game for me is to use equipment on creatures. Not only can you actually see the equipment, there can be some very interesting synergies. Without spoiling too much, but I had a unit that was fairly ok in melee and could poison. Giving it a bow turns it into a high-damage ranged unit, still with poison. Quite a big upgrade. One thing of note is that the difficulty curve is inverted, at least as far as I have been playing. What I mean is that you can discover cards, and when you do, you may choose them as starting equipment. There are limits, but they get loosened with higher upgraded characters. For example, my necromancer starts out with a staff that can summon up to two skeletons, and my starting hand has a card that summons a unit that buffs all my skeletons +1/+1. Such a setup makes getting started in a new run a lot easier of course and the game gets easier, rather than harder. So yes, finding these exploits is fun, but also means that there is a bit of a legacy element to the game. At the end of the day it depends on the player whether they like it, or whether they find it too spoiled to be a true rogue-like. I am firmly in the former camp.

Just picked it back up after looking through the library. Scratches the D&D itch for sure, new maps and summoner options have been a great addition since the initial release as well.

Super gierka! Mega wciągająca, niby nic nowego, niby proste mechaniki, ale odkrywanie plansz i kart daje mnóstwo frajdy. Kart jest okropnie dużo, więc jest z czego wybierać, a losowych eventów wystarcza na tyle, żeby nie nudzić się przez wieeele godzin. Super gierka "z doskoku", na krótką przerwę (tylko że niestety najczęściej krótka przerwa zamienia się w długą...)

I was put off by the head's-looking-at-you artstyle at first, I got used to it very quickly. Never really seen a top-down style game take the phrase that way before... Combat works like a tactics game where units on the field can move/attack once per turn, you also get energy per turn that you can use on cards you draw from the deck you build through the run, these can be an attack, or summon more units. The humor in this game is very enjoyable, the combat is entertaining without being too difficult. Most humorous take on Druids I've ever seen, you hurl Squirrels, mutate them in Squirrel Monstrosities, good times. I look forward to yeeting many more squirrels.

If you like tactics games where strategy can make or break your battle against superior numbers and forces then this game is a must buy for you. Abalon offers a challenging and robust gameplay without falling into the pitfall of titles that become a puzzle game with only one solution. If you're a fan of drafting cards and building decks similar to drafting for a card tournament, or slay the spire, or monster train, then this game will satisfy that niche for you. Even if you are unfamiliar with this type of gameplay you will have no problems learning and picking this style up quickly and easily. If you enjoy a loot system that gets you excited when a cool item drops that enhances and changes how you play then this game is for you. Reminds me of finding loot in Diablo but without piles of junk. In this game, just about every item can enhance your armies on the fly and can be critical to better outcomes. While the core of this game is represented with cards, at its heart Abalon is a strategy game. A strategy game that doesn't waste your time with a lot of pointless dialogue. Instead, it focuses on what it does best which is get you from one battlefield to the next. It even has a fast travel system. But Don't let it fool into thinking that you can play every card that you can afford... you need to manage all your resources even if that means saving that Dragon Baddie for another fight. If you are still on the fence about if this game is for you, let me share my final thoughts... I have enjoyed this game more than most Triple A strategy games and games with a lot bigger studio teams. Even more compelling is the ability to switch seamlessly from your game on pc to your phone and back to pc. This game kept me entertained on my phone when I ended up in the hospital unexpectedly. If you get this game you will want more and more content. That's why I recommend you get the DLC as soon as you purchase the base game. The animal DLC adds so many strategic options that I can't imagine not having it now.

ターン制ストラテジー、アニメーションだけで何が起こっているのか把握できるのが良い。 ゲームによっては大量のログが英語で流れて読み切れない場合が多いので、ユーザーフレンドリーなゲームだと思います。
