Aaru's Awakening is a neat game with whose attractive visuals will distract from its seemingly flash-based speed-running background. In a vacuum, it's worth a play, but I can think of better ways to spend $15.
I guess it's too hardcore for mere mortals. Looks cool though. Too bad I suck at dodging.
Boring
Es entretenido.
I don't want to be mean, but this game having a negative review is too forgiving. Like being on drugs. It doesn't deserve it. Maybe a very negative standing. It's like 0 satisfaction and beating a level feels like getting through the anus of the developers. Not counting the wrist pain I got from playing this game. I'm giving this game 1/10 because of the art style and I still feel like a MF Generous God.
Aaru's Awakening is a visually stunning platformer with a mix of highs and lows that make for a somewhat uneven experience. First, let's talk about the visuals. The hand-drawn graphics are absolutely beautiful and stand out as one of the game's strongest features. The game’s visual style is nothing short of captivating and adds a significant amount of charm and character. The music, while atmospheric, tends to be a bit dull. It sets the tone appropriately and complements the game's environment, but it lacks variety and can become monotonous over time. The soundtrack is serviceable, but it doesn't elevate the game in a memorable way. Now, onto the gameplay. As a platformer, Aaru's Awakening falls short where it matters most: the controls. They are unfortunately quite terrible. Precision and responsiveness are crucial in platformers, and this game struggles significantly in that area. The controls feel clunky and unresponsive, which leads to frustration, especially in more challenging sections. This lack of precision severely hampers the overall experience and makes it difficult to fully enjoy the game. Adding to the frustration, two of the achievements are unobtainable. For completionists, this is a significant drawback and detracts from the game's replayability and overall satisfaction. In summary, Aaru's Awakening is a game with a lot of potential that is undermined by poor controls. The stunning hand-drawn graphics and atmospheric music are commendable, but the core gameplay experience suffers due to imprecise and frustrating controls. Additionally, the unobtainable achievements are a disappointing oversight. While it has its moments, "Aaru's Awakening" ultimately leaves much to be desired as a platformer.
Fun playformer. Maybe a bit gimmicky, but it works out.
Aburrido.
