Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
This is a hidden gem for fans of the Total War series.
Underappreciated at launch, its historical focus rewards players with many unique game mechanics. For example, mustering at a low troop count forces you to think more strategically in advance. The politics mechanics are coherent and easy to understand, yet still offer depth. Battles are based on the familiar rock-paper-scissors formula, with heavily armoured units and bloodthirsty axe-wielding berserkers adding an extra dimension. The game tends to stall in the later stages as you become too powerful too quickly. There are also issues with the province system, as territories mostly consist of unguarded hamlets. You frequently have to pursue enemy armies through vast swathes of land in a ridiculous cat-and-mouse game. If you are new to the genre, you could try it, although there are more beginner-friendly Total War games. If you're a Total War veteran or a fan of medieval strategy games, you have to give this one a try.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 19: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Riktigt bra Total War-variant. Kul med många olika fraktioner att spela och flera olika varianter av vikingar som kommer och anfaller med ojämna mellanrum.
2 hours of game time is more than enough time wasted on this garbage. No wonder no one plays this game anymore. Horrible campaign design, mundane factions and in general a big old can of garbage. The battles were pretty good I must say. Just about the only positive thing about it. TOTAL WAR FANS STAY AWAY!
Great! i love the history of our fine country and its great to see it forge in such a way!
If you’re heading into Thrones of Britannia with an eye on the Welsh kingdoms—Gwynedd or Strat Clut—you’re in for one of the most rewarding and flavorful experiences the game has to offer. These factions embody the resilience, cultural pride, and guerrilla warfare style that make the setting of post-Viking Britain so compelling. 🏔️ Why the Welsh Factions Stand Out: 🎯 Strong Defensive Play with a Unique Edge Welsh factions are ideally suited for players who enjoy tactical, defensive play. With powerful hill forts, ambush-friendly terrain, and strong infantry compositions, Gwynedd and Strat Clut thrive when using terrain to their advantage. Their armies excel at holding ground and grinding down more aggressive factions like the Vikings or Anglo-Saxons. 📜 Cultural Influence and Kingdom Legitimacy Playing as the Welsh, you’re not just another kingdom trying to paint the map—you’re fighting to preserve a proud, ancient culture against encroaching outsiders. The faction mechanics reflect this with a strong emphasis on legitimacy, loyalty, and cultural influence, rewarding players who keep their nobles in check and build respect among neighboring tribes. 🛡️ Strong Infantry and Morale Welsh units are built to last. While they may lack some of the flashy cavalry or berserkers of other factions, their infantry has high morale and staying power, making them ideal for prolonged engagements. Combined with well-timed charges and clever positioning, Welsh armies punch far above their weight class. 📈 Challenging Start, Satisfying Payoff Let’s be honest—playing as a Welsh kingdom isn’t the easiest route. You’ll often start surrounded, under pressure from both Vikings and Anglo-Saxons. But this only makes victory sweeter. Carving out your place among giants and eventually uniting the western lands is one of the most satisfying arcs in the entire game.
The game becomes a slog trying to balance offensive with defense along with the economy. While I understand the Viking are for the lore of the time period, it becomes a pain to deal with, especially when trying to expand your empire. Instant recruitment is a double edge sword as well with being to build up massive armies quickly, they are slow to heal up since they aren't at full strength. This will also apply to your enemies. Barely survive defeating an army and next you know, they're back with a small blob that's just enough to crush you. Managing estate is tedious along with influence, which doesn't seem to matter aside from fame. Governors and generals beg for these like a child asking for ice for dinner every chance they get. The research tree is just terrible as well. Almost all research requires you to do something to unlock them and the end of the tree is just meant to hurt you. Why would I want to give my enemies supplies and movement range whiling giving myself more upkeep? You get to rename settlements which is funny. 4/10
Has all the features of the total War franchise condensed into a intriguing point in British history, and while there are many limits set in a narrow bandwidth of options, at least the game does not look terrible, as so many of the later total Wars games always appear on low end pcs.
great game with shieldwall and following mods
