From the multi-award-winning strategy series, A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia combines huge real-time battles with engrossing turn-based campaign, set at a critical flashpoint in history. Anglo-Saxons, Gaelic clans and Viking settlers clash for control. What Kingdom will you build?

Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.

Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Really very good. Don't let its small scope fool you -- the systems in play here strike a great balance between modeling their historical time while being engaging but not overwhelming. You've got 10 playable factions, 2 in each of 5 categories, and from my experience each plays distinctly even within the same category. Not the "grandest" of grand strategy games, but still a damn satisfying experience, and given the lack of games set in this historical period, certainly worth a shot if pre-Norman Britain is at all interesting to you

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 19: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

2 hours of game time is more than enough time wasted on this garbage. No wonder no one plays this game anymore. Horrible campaign design, mundane factions and in general a big old can of garbage. The battles were pretty good I must say. Just about the only positive thing about it. TOTAL WAR FANS STAY AWAY!
underrated
No, Just, no. No matter what, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Just pick up Attila total war, medieval 2 total war and any mods that enhance these two to put you in this period, you will have a much better time any day than playing this garbage fire. Even at its lower sale price that I got it at $8.99 and it still wasn't worth it. CA should have simply made this a part of Attila total war like the Charlemagne campaign and that would have been fine, but no.... the shareholders and bad executives just had to do this abominable act to make the "Saga series" and do this. Do yourself a favor and go play some indie games that try to do better than total war, let alone the older historical titles had better ideas and execution of them. Anyone who tries to sell you on getting this game don't seem to understand that there are better titles of total war games to play that aren't this mess.
The game has some interesting aspects with loyality and the management of providences and minor cities.
People say the AI is easy... Well I disagree, I think the AI is overpowered in a ridiculous way out of battle. Like I was doing the Scotland campaign, chasing down the enemies of the south, who only has 2 more Minor Settlements, which wouldn't have had enough food or coin to supply an army logically. They had 1 unit in the red bcs I recently defeated them and alloacted my main force elsewhere. I thought leaving a small 5 unit troop regiment to finish them off and capture the cities would be enough, but NO! in I kid u not the next 2 turns they jumped from 1 to 7 yellow (medium health) troops, then to 11 greenish yellow. Like HOW! how did they have the resouces, resupply, food, and coin to fun and gain all that power so fast? it's like they're held to a separate standard from the main player. And what's even more annoying is when an enemy retreats, I can't catch em! but when I retreat, it might as well be a surrender or tease button. And when all this was happening, rebels popped up bcs that ai took my city of food, which immedeately sparked an uprising that somehow was 13 units large, 13! in 1 turn. Like WHAT! I thought this game was supposed to be easy but this is just ridiculous.
There's a lot that you WANT to like abouit Thrones of Britannia. The theme and setting are beautiful, with great historic appeal, packaged in a nice visual and audio style, and in a popular era. It''s just... boring. As a Sagas entry, it is small in scale, yet the map is huge - resulting in an empty, passive campaign. It tries to bring back features from Attila, but it seems to forget any semblance of depth. Building chains are brain-dead "just build more of this colour". Enemy campaign AI is horribly passive - once you beat their army, they just don't get strong enough to build another. The lack of garrisons for small settlements means that you spend most of the campaign freely capturing dots on a map with the occasional battle or siege. The recruitment system is actually deecnt - there is a limited pool of units available universally, which increases as you unlock more upgrades in your tech tree. Though, given that you rarely need full stacks, this will virtually never be a problem. Some elements of the game just don't make sense. Some tech tree upgrades give you PENALTIES for no gain - why on earth would you want to increase ENEMY movement range? The campaign objectives are tiered appropriately and uniquely (for this stage of the series, at least) - you don't have to choose a campaign length, and instead you can unloick each victory in the same campaign. You can stop playing at a short victory (in turn based on capturing provinces, building specific structures or achieving regional and historic conquests), and then you can go on for a long victory and then the Ultimate victory, which involves fighting off Viking invasions. However, these long conditions are so drawn out that it's a boring waiting game of 10 turns to build a cathedral. You've reached the point where you can literally be the only one on the map but still not have won because you're missing a building chain. There isn't enough appeal in playing every faction. You can have fun with it, but you will likely get bored of the game if you don't enjoy the setting enough. The flip side is that if you're looking for a "My first Total War" game, this is actually suitable due how easy it is.
Boring. This feels like Attila made by AI, lacking any individuality.Every unit is same, every general is same,(some even have same name),every city is the same, every map region is same, every fight is same... For 10€, I guess it can bring some fun.
