Excellent game!

This is a much better game then it's predecessor, although it doesn't re-invent anything from the first game the AI, graphics, sound, set pieces and combat are a significant step up. The gameplay is still simplistic but Amicia and Hugo's Journey is a powerful and disturbing trip through 14th century France that will stick with me for sometime. Without trying to give any spoilers away here the one main issue with this game is that I felt the game should have concluded much much earlier for a very obvious reason which I felt hampered the narrative. On a lesser note the voice actors also do some heavy lifting here as the facial animation and lip synching isn't great however I have no choice but to recommend this title due to the overall slick presentation and the intimate journey it takes you on.
As someone who really loved the first game, Requiem was extremely disappointing. The writing was terrible, the dialogue and characters were often insufferable, and the story overstayed its welcome by a long time. By the last 4 or 5 chapters, I found I was forcing myself to play it just to beat it. If you liked the first game, do yourself a favor and stop there - this does not feel like a worthy successor to Innocence.
I absolutely loved the original game, but was really disappointed by the optimization of this one, the spec requirements on the store page are a complete lie and despite being a little above the requirements for ultra graphics with 1080p 60 fps, my pc struggles to run the game without it being on low graphics with balanced dlss. I was really looking forward to playing this but with the terrible optimization the only way I was able to play was though utterly destroying the visual style and turning the whole screen into a flashbang.
el mejor juego
I think it might have been more enjoyable back when it released but there are games that do both stealth and combat so much better than this now and while it does look fantastic still i just can't get on with how dull it is to play. Not because the story is slow or nothing happens - but it all feels very forced and contrived and its horribly repetitive. I did try to play it at launch twice and bounced off twice. Gave it a much longer shot this time around but couldn't escape that feeling of 'when will this get good' The story in the opening is just a bunch of fetch this fetch that for Hugo. They go out and face horrific threats and risk their lives to bring a herbalist back to Hugo, and then he has a reaction to the medicine so you have to go get him more medicine.... and that sums up the writing here. It doesn't feel like much effort was put in and it all feels very contrived. The rat mechanic was great back in the day with the first game. It was thrilling, but here it really feels dull and it hasn't really evolved. The jank is showing with both the rats but also the game overall. Most areas are laid out as puzzles where you either have to extinguish or generate a light source and its all very paint by numbers and after a short while its more of a yawn. You enter an area. You see ledges marked for climbing. Items you can interact with flashing away. Every single area is the same with a different coat of paint. I'm sure the story overall is great but i just feel like i'd be wasting time i could be playing more interesting stuff in my backlog. Maybe gameplay gets much better later on but judging by what i have seen so far i really can't justify giving it more time than i already have.
