Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
What a long, strange trip .... I have no idea what I just played, but I think I like it. Warning though: this game has been in Early Access since March 23, 2017 and it seems to be abandonware. The game as is has several bugs. I'm really giving a neutral recommendation at the sale price of $4.99, simply for the weird experience. The bug I experienced was a missing key I had put in my inventory. I simply restarted the game and next time just held on to the key with my hand. I was unable to progress when the key vanished from my inventory. I don't even know why the game has an inventory to be honest. I also experienced a pathing issue, which I resolved by simply crouching and then I was able to move again. I got stuck on what I believe is the 2nd or perhaps it is the 3rd level. It is after you take the elevator all the way to the top. I ate all the mushrooms. I slept in the bed. I walked around all the areas. I have no idea how to progress. That left a bad taste in my mouth, no doubt. But I'm still not giving a negative recommendation, why? Because as I stated, it was a long, strange trip. I love the music. I loved the little animations that seemingly randomly happened upon stumbling to some location / object. This is an absolutely beautiful world that you just want to explore because you want to see what is next. I took the weirdest bath. I ate all the shrooms. I hallucinated all kinds of things. Rate 5/10. It's kind of sad that this game has been abandoned. WIth some work, it could be a unique, magical game / experience that only VR can bring.
This Game is actually pretty cool :) It actually gives you a little pf that typical mysterios Shroomfeeling.
Not sure if it's meant to do this but after eating the mushrooms I just get a loud buzzing sound and the graphics become corrupted. That's it. Not like taking mushrooms at all :-(
I really wish we would leave neutral reviews. Unlike the coasters by the same dev, Raw Lion Workshop, this game is, well, underwhelming. It didn’t even feel like the same creator of the coasters I love, which are fairly polished at this point made this one. Imagine walking around Artraal, but with no real objective except to try and open a box for a pass key for a train. You explore darkly lit areas, often not sure which way you can go and you need to find the symbol for each colored petal. I stumbled on purple right away, but after visiting each of the other worlds for the keys the darn box won't open. This game lacks the logic of the rides, that, while surreal, have progression. It feels like it was an attempt to get away from coasters, though there are coaster elements in each world. All I wanted was my train pass and the young lady was no help whatsoever. Very buggy at this point, not everything works and the in-game note says it isn't finished. The graphics need some love, and maybe just make the darn thing into four trippy coasters. That way the pitch black areas will not be an issue.
Superb. Splendid. Soulful. One of my all time favorite early VR games. Sadly it doesn't go beyond the title screen on Index, and I'm not willing to re-buy Meta hardware just to play this again. I do wish the developer would fix this up for modern headsets as I've given him my money twice now.
