BEST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED
I've played this game consistently for 10 years and not once did I realize I haven't written a review for it until now. This is one of my favorite games of all time. Everything about it is perfect: the level design, tight controls, masterfully created music, and memorable characters work in tandem to make the perfect love letter to the 3D platformer genre. This, "Cute as Heck 3D platformer" is a blast start to finish and doesn't miss ONCE throughout the entire game. It's a rare example of a kickstarter game gone right. And this is all just for the BASE GAME. The two campaign DLCs take the game to the next level BOTH TIMES. I fondly remember impatiently sitting in my seat at school because it was DLC day and I got to play NEW Hat in Time content when I got home, and it was always worth the wait! Gears for Breakfast simply didn't miss when developing this game. Nearly 10 years after release I haven't run out of things to do because of the modding support. W devs, W game, W community, W kid with the hat.
Amazing game and I believe one of the few things I backed where I don't feel disappointed. Now at the late stage of its lifecycle, it has been kitted out with plenty of community and modding tools as well as streamlining our ability to share them with one another. It shows no signs of slowing down and now lives and breathes with the community that plays it. This is a rare honest-to-goodness "good faith game". It invites you to complete it 100% then invites you to interact with what its community has made. A golden standard for platformers imo.
Sprint Hat my beloved
