Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.86/day in the week to Sep 11 → 14.83/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Leave the noise of the world behind and step into the quiet, rhythmic life of a woodsman. A Game About Chopping Trees is a meditative experience designed for players who find peace in simple, satisfying tasks, all wrapped in a calm and relaxing atmosphere with no timers, no pressure, and no stress. At its core, this is a game about the pure satisfaction of chopping trees.
When it's time to move on to a new stretch of woodland, hop aboard your trusty handcar. Pump the levers and glide along the rails through serene, peaceful landscapes. The journey between forests is just as relaxing as the work itself. Simple. Satisfying. Entirely at your own pace.
Enjoy the satisfying crack of timber as towering trees split and fall beneath your steady hand. As you make your way through the forest, invest your earnings to improve your chopping skills with upgrades such as a sharper ax, a stronger swing, and more efficient techniques that make every session feel even more rewarding.
The forest is a living cycle, and you can help it thrive. After clearing an area, take a moment to give back by planting new saplings in the spaces you've created. Watch your efforts take root as tiny sprouts gradually grow into towering trees once again. This gentle cycle of reforestation keeps the woodland lush and vibrant, allowing you to shape and nurture your own ever-changing forest.

Even for $8, it just feels like it's missing things. There's like.... no content really. Three areas, but the upgrading is super fast, no "wow" factor anywhere. It's also weird they named it after the other popular game titled "A Game About Digging a Hole". Seems like they were trying to jump on a train for an easy "simulator" type of game. The entire stamina upgrade category is strange. They will not let you sprint until you unlock enough points. THEN you can finally have stamina that self-regens instead of you having to spend money to... refill your stamina. If you unlock that skill where your stamina regens, it's essentially impossible to earn the "Spend $300 on coffee" achievement. The animation for drinking coffee takes too long and your stamina refills before it's finished, which cancels the animation. I had to start a whole new save file, deleting everything I previously did because they don't allow multiple save files. It's "fun" for $8, but I was let down once it was over. It made me feel empty.
So, its Sons of the Forest without base building or cannibals trying to kill you every couple of minutes. Honestly, I sat down and chopped down trees for 2 hours last night and will probably do the same tonight.
Devs finished the game but decided to give a big free content patch that nearly doubles the game size. And the release is only 2 days ago, during that time devs uploaded more then 12 Hotfixes to adress new issues. And people here don't have better to do then being impatient, blame and give bad reviews. What the heck is wrong with you guys? It's really not fair what is happening here. Game is cozy and fun. Devs reacted to feedback for more challenge. They added it, now players blame them for adding a challenge. What?? Ya all, calm down man. Devs working super hard in fixing stuff and make the game nice and great. But they are humans, not some magical beings, fixing YOUR Issues in an blink of an eye. I guess social media and doomscrolling made ya all way to disrespectful and unpatient. Don't play Early Access Games an/or Beta Content in finished games, if you feel the urge to instant blame devs if you face some bugs. So for all left, with some mind in their heads: I can recommend the game 100%. It has beautiful graphics and a nice cozy soundtrack. Yes, there is some "grind" but it's only unbalanced for those who expect to finish the game in less then 2 hours, so they can refund it. Like said, devs added super huge content patch. Yes there are bugs, but they're super busy adressing them. No need to blame anyone here. For the money you pay, you get a really nice game!
Its a fun game.. however there is a critical bug where if a log falls in the water you literally cant progress the game. Avoid purchasing until its fixed.
Fun game. Chased after my cart many times. Peaceful. Do wish there was more biomes/upgrades, but still very relaxing. Tree felling OP, love it. Scratched my itch. Hard to find raccoons, very hard.
It's alright. Really lacks content. Takes about 2-3 hours to beat. There's only 3 areas. Not much replay value. Chopping is just clicking, or holding left click once you get the saw. If you have a friend, I could maybe say its worth getting if it's on like a 50% sale, otherwise, for $7, you're better off getting something else.
~If you're not an achievement hunter who strictly enjoys casual games, this review may have less weight for you. My main gripe is with an update added a month or so after purchasing the game that seemed to come out of literally nowhere and contradicts the tags as a cozy, relaxing, casual game. The devs were told by players that they don't care for the update, but the devs have stated that they think it's a good update and this was their vision. This is my main issue which is why I'm leaving a negative review. ___ I love fun, cozy games and can confidently say that the majority of people who buy games in this genre will literally never, EVER appreciate an annoying, waste of time three tier boss fight randomly added to the game, sorry. Don't care that the devs think this was somehow an improvement on their game or that they disclaim that it's totally optional. I'm a completionist and I buy games with achievements I think I can complete with ease while also enjoying the gameplay of said game. While I do boss fights, I don't like them in cozy games. I also like gore and horror, but not usually in the types of games I play when I want to relax and unwind. All these things would be jarring, unpleasant, and unexpected, yet the former is actually included in a recent update of this game. It's one thing to know this upfront, but in that case, I would've chosen to avoid this content instead of paying for it and have it added long after the point that I can receive a refund. I was given no choice though and it annoys me when developers decide to add content that doesn't fit with the style of game they made instead of making the current game better. You simply have to suck it up as the consumer and it's not okay for content you've paid for. The buggy "secret boss" fight they suddenly added in a random update was not fun for me, nor did I feel any sense of accomplishment beating this boss (after the 7th time, I think??) with the same moves that it spams over and over and over and over again. The first time getting stuck literally INSIDE the boss after moving too close to it, I knew this was just a waste of time achievement the developers were very, very proud of adding to their "cozy, relaxing, casual" game. There were times I was hit by an attack and then could not use my chainsaw suddenly despite having been holding the button the entire time to use it. This wasn't consistent because sometimes this would happen and other times it simply wouldn't be an issue, but there was no telling what triggered the problem to begin with. I genuinely don't think this game or boss fight was beta tested by people unaffiliated with the developer?? Yikes! If the game didn't advertise itself as a cozy game, this wouldn't be an issue for me, but there's nothing fun about 100%ing a game you bought in a genre you greatly enjoy only to get an update and be informed there's a random new achievement that entirely clashes with the vibe of the game and now you have to play something awful you didn't pay for or anticipate having to play. It bothers me that these developers have said they're planning more updates for this game, but no worries, I guess! They can see people don't like this boss they insisted on adding with an achievement, so they won't be adding any more bosses. Yet they still somehow stand by their decision to add it and will most likely come up with plenty of even more wacky things that further remove the game from the fun, chill genre someone would choose to play to relax. Can't wait for timed challenges and strictly co-op only achievements so I can force my friends to play a game they have zero interest in! It's very clear they don't care about what their players think or feel when given feedback going off what I read in their replies. I mean, they COULD give us more content that matches the game we played, but nah. Let's just make stuff that no one who bought this game wants. I'd rather just avoid this developer in the future since they cannot figure out what type of genre to make the game that they made when they decide to add seemingly frivolous updates to and are not concerned in the least when players tell them they don't like it, lol. Oh well. It's a $7.99 lesson. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A GAME ABOUT CHOPPING TREES: «400 РУБЛЕЙ ЗА 2,6 ЧАСА СКУКИ»
A Game About Chopping Trees.
