About

You wake up in a deserted city, the only one not to disappear. Everyone seems to have disappeared suddenly, leaving behind crashed cars, open houses, and their belongings. But you're not alone. There's something out there in this strange city, full of even stranger sights and events. Welcome to A Day Without Me, an isometric puzzle adventure game where you'll have to figure out how you were left as the lone survivor of a mass disappearance on Earth, while trying to hold on to your sanity.

ENG/FR : A little purge that should be quite short given the runs on YouTube. The developer wants to tell us something, that's for sure, but the execution is so bad that I don't even want to bother reinstalling the game: They don’t hold your hand and the information provided is cryptic. Then the bugs... Whoa. Context: You have to burn objects to trigger a script. I managed to softlock myself by dying during the script and trying to restart at the checkpoint to give it another shot: Impossible because there’s nothing left to burn.I restart the game, get past the first challenge only to see that the game considers that I have already completed all the steps during the last run, so it's impossible to complete the current challenge and I remain stuck in chapter 1. What a shame. Dommage.
Rating: Dito: 1.3/5 Chat: 1/5 Gesamt: 1.15/5
A Day Without Me is an atmospheric indie puzzle-adventure developed and published by Gamecom Team that places the player in a quiet, unsettling world where humanity has seemingly vanished overnight. The game opens with a deceptively simple premise: you wake up to find yourself completely alone in a city frozen in the middle of everyday life. Cars are abandoned in the streets, objects lie scattered as if people disappeared mid-action, and a heavy silence hangs over everything. This immediate sense of emptiness sets the tone for the entire experience, drawing players into a mysterious and melancholic journey driven by curiosity rather than urgency. Exploration is the core of the game, presented through an isometric perspective that encourages careful observation of the environment. Progression depends on interacting with objects, navigating unfamiliar spaces, and solving environmental puzzles that range from intuitive to deliberately obscure. The game rarely provides explicit instructions, instead pushing players to interpret clues through context and experimentation. This design choice reinforces the feeling of isolation and confusion, as you are left to make sense of the world entirely on your own. While this can be immersive, it can also be challenging, as moments of uncertainty or aimlessness are common. The city itself plays a central role in the experience. Its empty streets, abandoned buildings, and subtle visual details tell a story without words. Environmental storytelling is used extensively, with visual cues and spatial arrangements hinting at events that occurred before the disappearance. As you move deeper into the world, the environments gradually become more surreal, blurring the line between reality and something more abstract. This progression adds a dreamlike quality to the experience, suggesting that the game is as much about internal reflection as it is about uncovering an external mystery. Puzzles are integrated into the environment in ways that often feel organic, requiring players to think spatially and conceptually rather than relying on traditional logic challenges. Some puzzles cleverly build on visual patterns or environmental changes, while others can feel cryptic and disconnected, leading to trial-and-error solutions. This unevenness is one of the game’s more divisive aspects, as players who enjoy deciphering ambiguous challenges may find satisfaction, while others may become frustrated by the lack of clear feedback or direction. Sound design is used sparingly but effectively. Long stretches of silence are punctuated by ambient noises that emphasize the emptiness of the world. When music does appear, it is subtle and restrained, reinforcing the emotional weight of isolation rather than guiding the player’s actions. This minimalistic audio approach enhances immersion, making every sound feel significant and reinforcing the sense that something is fundamentally wrong with the world you are exploring. From a technical standpoint, A Day Without Me shows its indie origins. Movement and interactions can feel stiff at times, and the interface offers minimal guidance. Occasional glitches or unclear interactions can interrupt the flow of play, particularly during puzzle-heavy sections. These issues don’t define the experience, but they can detract from immersion, especially for players who prefer smoother, more polished gameplay systems. Narratively, the game is intentionally ambiguous. It avoids direct exposition, leaving much of the story open to interpretation. By the end, players may come away with different understandings of what happened and what it means, depending on how they interpret the symbolism and environmental clues. This lack of definitive answers can be intriguing for some, encouraging reflection and discussion, while others may find it unsatisfying or incomplete. Overall, A Day Without Me is a contemplative and unconventional puzzle-adventure that prioritizes mood and atmosphere over clarity and structure. It is best suited for players who enjoy slow-paced exploration, environmental storytelling, and open-ended narratives that invite interpretation. While its rough edges and obscure design choices may limit its appeal, the game succeeds in creating a memorable sense of solitude and unease. For those willing to embrace its ambiguity and imperfections, it offers a quiet, introspective experience that lingers long after the screen fades to black. Rating: 6/10
"A day without me" is an interesting game. This game brings the excitement of puzzle games and exploration. maybe this game will feel a bit difficult at the beginning for casual gamers (I'm a casual gamer btw), but after successfully solving one puzzle after another and successfully continuing the progress of the game, the feeling of satisfaction and curiosity makes me want to play further. in terms of graphics is quite good by presenting a low poly style. it's just that sometimes it feels a little confusing when the player's character is covered by an object from the map. but so far the graphics of this game is no problem. The sound quality in this game is good, even though it only provides sound effects. During exploration the game feels quiet especially when the player is walking around the map for a long time looking for clues because this game does not use background music. The conclusion is, this game is worth to play. For someone who likes mystery and exploration, this game is for you. I hope this developer will continue to develop and create a way more outstanding games in the future.
Teaboy's Basic(ish) Reviews....I read a lot of reviews when looking at games on Steam, and it quickly gets tiring – those who write involved, down to the micron scale reviews, although helpful, end up like looking at War & Peace when you’ve only got time for a quick 5 minute dump! This is middle of the road and to the point – not easy for me as I tend towards sesquipedalian loquaciousness! Vociferously Verbose? Alright, verbal diarrhoea. (Although I hate panning a developer’s work and all the time, effort and love they put into designing these – it is their life after all – this is my honest, personal opinion of my level of enjoyment. Sorry devs!). A note on time played: My Steam clock does not seem to work properly, indeed, it even minuses time on occasion! Plus, I have a tendency to wander off and leave games running at times, so time played may not be entirely accurate! Teaboy’s Tonsil Titillators or Toenail Titbits! (Rating) Tonsil Tickler (Totally Tops): The frenchy of which you always dreamt! To quote a master, “She’s got a tongue like an electric eel and she likes the taste of a Man’s tonsils!”. An absolute masterpiece and joy to play. The Tits (Terrific): Everyone loves playing with these! Not THE best bit, but such fun on their own you can be lost for hours....mmmm. What most games you really like score – perfection is so rare after all. Torso Teaser (Taker of your Time): It’s a flat stomach....sure it’s nice to look at, run your fingers over, slobber on a bit, sometimes that bellybutton gets your motor running....but it's just basically the corridor between the two ‘gaming rooms’. The definitive ‘Meh’ - the middle ‘sideways thumb’ option for which everyone on Steam cries. Todger/Tadger & (scroTum) Taters (Tedious): Is it an ‘a’ or is it an ‘o’? Who cares! The meat can be fun to play with for about 5 minutes of your entire day, the rest it just hangs there and generally gets in the way of doing something else. The main problem of course, is the two veg sticking to your inside thigh. This is what this game feels like – the occasional/rare bouts of fun, the rest bobbing like a 19th century British Policeman (now you know why!). Toenail Tornado (Total Toss): A playthrough so appalling it’s like being trapped in a Turkish sauna with the ugliest, hairiest, fattest, sweatiest beast of a neolithic hominid who’s trimming his toenails using pliers and the splinters are reminiscent of a scene from the Normandy Landings. My god how did this get released!? Teaboy Touts (Score): Total Todger smhid (shake my head in despair - or in this case, disgust) The Review: I spent three quarters of an hour wandering the streets....amazingly the first direction I took I found a way south, found a sports car, could do nothing with it - every other vehicle is a wreck. Retraced my steps after walking every square inch of the map - even under trees where you can't see anything - finding NOTHING to interact with, finally re-found my house, went to my neighbour to the right and got through the hopscotch 'maze', finally got some stuff to pick up....lost the football under a small lorry with boxes. Found a way further north, found another sports car - again no interaction - found nothing new, went back south....could NOT find the way I found first thing!?!? Gave up and had a quick look at discussion page - only 5 entries - one of which said to roll the ball down a slide....the ball rolled under a truck! Soft lock, game over. I also found a church which was mentioned - no interaction for me! Maybe it 'opens' after doing the ball thing? I would also add that a collectable by the garage door I could NOT pick up until after I came back from the south and re-entered my house (which is technically done with)! I'm a controller player, joystick, joypad, gamepad, whatever you call them, I loathe using keyboard to play games....this game....omfg. The controller will MOVE you, but NOTHING ELSE! Therefore you have to use keyboard. And for a game that only has movement, run (shift) and pick up/interact (e) - are you seriously telling me you could not assign TWO %*&£(^! buttons!?!?!?!?!?!? So why complain then, even if you don't like kb/m controls? The movement is at a 45 degree angle, so all controls are skewed! Plus having the 'aswd' method for moving, wtf have 'e' as the other button!? My right hand is doing nothing (mouse has no function other than to zoom, which is totally unnecessary). Absolute trash. I am truly sorry to say that, but all the little things together just ended up enraging me - so for me, and many others it seems, this game is an exercise in frustration with zero enjoyment and I am not willing to go back and try again even after some helpful hints from the discussions page and people finishing it in 2 hours. I suppose the devs got free money out of me as I never refund a game. Damn shame.
"Normally, I enjoy games that let you explore and figure things out on your own. But here, I often felt completely lost. The controls are frustrating on certain levels, to the point of ruining the experience. The inconsistent audio levels are jarring, even painful at times, making it hard to stay immersed. I ended up giving up, wandering aimlessly on the map with no clear goal or direction. Sure, it's a small indie game, but it lacks too much polish for me to really have fun with it."
An Action-Puzzle game with a little bit of horror. It is a good game with a balance puzzle, odd and intense. I really love the world design and sound effects. The control, and third person camera needs to be improved but still this is a good puzzle game.
There is no objective (or any hints) in the game making a confusion, the map is way to big with no exact purposes, and bugged item causing player stuck (I'm stuck at chapter 2 just because the ball cant be interact). I do interested on the game but if you can fixed the issue i'll much appreciate it
