A Bumpy Ride

Recovering from surgery and unable to move around much - THIS has been the perfect game to play. As a long time train fan, I’ve found most games lean either way too deeply into the management genre or driving sim. This is a charming mix of both - without the need for a business or engineering degree. I would love to see more content added, though, and the ability to save your game whenever you want.

Pretty cute and cozy game overall. It's slow, easy to grasp, and relaxing for when you just wanna play something chill, but that gives enough for you to do. The "storyline", if ya could call it that, despite being short, does enough to ease you into the world and let you progress organically, so I almost never came to a point where I felt like I already had unlocked everything too early in the game, or couldn't unlock the things I needed to progress. That honestly helped a lot with the chill aspect of the game. The only criticism I'd give is the wonky optimization. The game doesn't run too well, and sometimes it can get a tiny bit bugged. Like, in my first gameplay, the intro cutscene just skipped on its own lmao. But again, nice game. I'd give it a 8/10.

As I saw this game, I thought: "4 year old me would have loved this!". Then I remembered that I still am a child at hearth even at 40, so I bought it and had giddy fun without trashing model train sets. 10/10: Would kick grumpy passengers off a steam drawbridge again!

Life has been very busy recently, so being able to play this in 40 minute chunks to chill out before bed has been wonderful and relaxing. And as a Disney Parks fan, there's plenty of sly references (intentional or otherwise) to make me smile. I really appreciate that you have the freedom to play it almost any way you want with little-to-no-penalty - simply transport passengers from A to B, or add complexity and depth with complex freight jobs and stock owner requests. You can even just ride around all day seeing the wonderfully designed sights at your own pace. I look forward to seeing what the devs add to this!

its decent, nice visuals, and a fairly well designed map, but it lacks a lot of replay value imo, the world itself is fairly dead, there is an NPC ship, some NPC trains which are really rare to come across and cattle, but thats kinda it, there's no life in the inbetween areas, no cars or people walking the roads, the train itself also offers little replayability, there's upgrades but not multiple different trains, there are at least 4 trains modelled as per what i've seen in the NPCs but you can only play as 1 of them, it would be nice to be able to play as the other trains, or even as trams considering there's tram routes in the cities, i would also like to see better throttle control so you can slow down more dynamically, and have it snap to the speed 1, speed 2, neutral and reverse when you're near those speeds, or atleast separate the brake from the speed so you can roll without a throttle

It's fun, although a bit cryptic and weird sometimes.
