When we say that '83 is a spiritual successor to the Rising Storm series, it's not only the accessible realism approach that makes '83 worth that title. Members of our team have worked on all previous Rising Storm titles, and also on the Red Orchestra franchise. Some of us have been in the biz of developing accessible realism games for the past 15 years.
It's just what we do best.
Games in the tactical/mil-sim shooter genre are usually a huge time sink. Everybody loves Tarkov and Arma but... not everyone can game 100 hours a week, or afford to prep for a match for XYZ minutes - only to die instantly!
'83 is mindful of your time. It skips the dull parts commonly present in realistic games, takes you to action fast, but does not neglect the lethality of war.
You can absolutely still die fast, but should that happen, you're back in business within a minute or two. You might want to avoid the dying though, your squad needs you and every death matters, as the matches are only 30-40 minutes long!
The tactical aspect of '83 lies in the objective focused flow of every match that simply requires teamwork to win. Clutch situations when capturing key objectives on the map can be solved with smart flanks, diversions, or well-timed fire missions, all coordinated across multiple squads within a team.
As with any tactical shooter, the selection of gear matters and can make a difference in '83. However, the point is not to experience gear fear. You can customize your loadout, but there are predefined classes (including a team commander!) that set some boundaries in order to strike a balance across factions.
There is a large selection of weapons and other gadgets, each meticulously designed and animated according to their real life counterpart. Also, the weapons behave in a realistic way: the barrels and suppressors overheat when rapid firing, machineguns are better deployed on a stable surface, and bullets don't magically teleport in between magazines when you reload a half-empty one.
Sounds like a game you want to play? Great!
Please add '83 to your Steam wishlist, and let's stay in touch!

They need to add Bots at least. It's sad that this game is dead so soon after release. Just release like 2x maps, bot feature, workshop and put it on sale/ free weekend.
I'm a good little chud and i upvote my larpslop, even if I have to larp alone :hearbreak:
GOOD BUT NEED ALOT WORK
I can recommend this game already in this state. It runs surprisingly well even with my computer and if you like this type of games, you will like this one also. Gunfights are intense and it feels like been part of actual war. People are cooperating and I haven't seen much of rambos. It is fast paced in milsim category and it is nice addition to the scene. There are organized matches a few times per week witch helps to find people to play with
The spiritual successor to Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, this games improves upon it in nearly every way.
> browse servers > only one has players > just 5 of them though > ok whatever let's go > kicked from server immediately, even before choosing team, for improper behavior(go figure) > missed the refund window 12/10 no notes, stay away
Лучше поиграйте RS2, на три головы лучше. В это играть больно, точнее чтобы поиграть надо постараться, больше 6 человек онлайна я не встречал. Зря потратил деньги
I have played RO2, RS, & RS2 all are excellent shooters. This game is no exception. The combat is extremely fun and the assets are fantastic. The only issue with this game is the player count. BLUE DOT GAMES, MARKET YOUR GAME. PEOPLE WILL BUY THIS GAME AND PLAY IT
I'm going to say it simply. Don't buy until you hear it's got its players back and is in a stable condition. It had potential so just add it to you follow list and come back later. It's an empty game as of this review so it's completely unplayable in that regards. Side note a review by North_Dumpling made a claim he worked on the dev team and there was some shady business. They gave zero proof of this. He had made a claim and blocked me for asking for more proof then a "trust me bro". Making it impossible to comment further on his review. His response to me asking for proof was "Those who know me, know its true. Got nothing to prove to you." This is fundamentally wrong. Making a potentially slanderous claim and saying you don't have to back it with any poof should be grounds to remove the review. Also yes 100% I am so petty as to make a actual review just to have a side note to call them out. I don't care lol
