Might&Magic X *WOW*
Bards Tale IV *KRASS*
Legends of Grimrock II *GEIL*
Juhu! Wie damals bei Might&Magic 3. Oder aktuell auch bei Legend of Grimrock 2, Might & Magic Legacy, The Bards Tale 4, ....

👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

👉🏻 Follow Main group
👉🏻 Follow Second group
👉🏻 Follow third group
and discover more reviews from me.
There are a few things 7 Mages did right, but oh so many more were done wrong. I absolutely hate downvoting a dungeon crawler, but admittedly my standards are pretty high. + With so few turn-based party-blobber dungeon crawlers made these days, I appreciate that an attempt was made to make one with updated graphics. It's definitely a pretty game. + Splitting the party in a blobber, while not original (Realms of Arkania was probably first to do so), was a great way to introduce different "puzzles" and interesting situations. + Not grindy like most turn-based party-blobbers. There are ways to grind, but they're off the beaten path and I'd say they're optional. + Up to 7 party members is great. I'm tired of the 4-person limit which most dungeon crawlers impose. + I appreciated the music/instrument system of this game. A certain "Bard's Tale 4" could've learned a lot from this. Unlike the dialog, the music system was imaginative. - Dungeons are small and typically simple, incredibly annoying or both, which makes 7 Mages more "puzzle" game than dungeon crawler in my estimation. My favorite was probably the slave ship, which contained a couple of clever moments. - The dialog would make more sense had the game been titled "7 Blondes". It's brutal, utterly unintelligent, and certainly doesn't fit the setting. It severely ruined the immersion for me. - A number of "puzzles" are more trial and error rather than deduction. For a game that's more "puzzle" than dungeon crawl, that's a major turn-off for me. - Very few enemy types. There are far more skills and spells than enemy types. - The combat lacks balance. Early on I was getting my spleen handed to me and really had to plan every move, otherwise it'd be my last. A bad initiative toss could mean a restart. Buy a magical longbow and get 30/45 speed, then all of a sudden fights are nothing. Three mages could bard 100% of the time for more XP or gold while two others killed stuff and the remaining two loitered. I really appreciate having 7 party members, but I do not appreciate not needing them all. TL:DR - Two words sum up this game: wasted potential.
Excellent and innovative "old-school" type CRPG. Has outdoor exploration, a bunch of unique dungeons, 6 mages to collect + yourself and more. Very good stuff.
This is a game I really tried to like. I normally do like games like this, but the game mechanics and game design are flawed. The game is just not much fun to play. The combat is slow and tedious . It is sometimes hard to make any progress and develop your characters. It takes quite a while to get use to the game play mechanics. Some of the puzzles are not very obvious and are more trial and error than logic. So you can spend hours trying to get through an area but get nowhere because you have done something wrong or missed something. It all adds to a game that is just not much fun to play. It is a game that with a bit more thought and better game design and balancing could have quite good. I am very surprised that the people who produced this game also made Gates of Skeldal. That game, although older, is vastly superior.
There are plenty of better and less clunky dungeon crawlers but if you like the genre it is worth a play.
Though it doesn't stand out much at first glance, this is actually a damn good dungeon crawler with a unique feel that I regret waiting so long to play. The most unusual mechanic here is being able to split the party. I expected this to be more of a novelty, but it's well-used. Positioning is crucial during combat, and a number of puzzles require you to be in multiple places at once. This breaks with the usual blob paradigm and requires you to think of the party as individual agents. I would have liked to see it go even further, such as a dungeon that must be explored by two independent groups at the same time. Music is another interesting mechanic. The stock bard trope has been expanded so that any character can play music in lieu of actively fighting, with each song supported by one or more types of instruments. The more unique instruments you devote to a song, the stronger its effects. These songs are quite powerful, so you'll always want at least one character performing in combat. Despite the large variety of songs, though, there are a few that are by far the most important. I almost always used the single-instrument looter song during combat, which increases enemies' often stingy loot drops (though in retrospect, I didn't really need to use this quite as much as I did). A really cool touch is that these aren't just buffs, but actual songs that comprise the game's soundtrack (there's no music otherwise), with the audible instruments matching the ones you're playing. These are all great compositions, but since I mostly used the looter song, that's what I heard for the majority of my playthrough. Character development is quite interesting. Basic leveling follows a typical 5-points-per-level stat allocation, which unfortunately doesn't provide much tangible advancement past the mid-game. On the other hand, spells, songs, and weapon skills are found scattered around the island, either as treasure, available from trainers, or acquired when another mage joins your group. Once acquired, they are available for all characters. This is a strong motivator to explore everywhere you can. Oddly, offensive magic is outclassed by physical attacks pretty early on, though support magic remains vital throughout the game. I really enjoyed the diverse biomes and their minor progression puzzles, which all have a unique and entertaining flair. You'll bait undersea creatures, ride flying lizards, resurrect helpful skeletons, and more on your travels. The undersea area was a personal favorite, as it forces you to juggle multiple overlapping mechanics to stay alive and progress. Puzzles are presented to you in purely observational language with no immediate verbal guidance. These can be somewhat obtuse at times, but there is a built-in hint system in the form of the True Sight spell that will give you a nudge. The way it works is a bit janky, though, and the hints are not always clearly translated. Enemy variety is also a bit weak, as there are typically two unique enemy types per area, but they're all very well-animated and have their own tactical quirks. Finally - yes, this is a mobile port, but don't let that deter you. Although the interface suffers a bit from being designed for touchscreens, the game still looks great and plays very well on PC. Be warned that there are ways to soft-lock yourself, so advance carefully and save frequently in multiple slots. In particular, do not let your mages die, and do not attempt the dragon dungeon until you've cleared the ship (it's possible to do these out of order, but it's clearly not intended). Overall, yes, it's flawed, but it's fully worth your time. A bargain at full price for dungeon crawler fans.
I liked this game a lot, the puzzles are very interesting and from the games of this type, it has the best level design of all i've played

But still, it is very fun and interesting to play it, in some places it is even difficult. I loved it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YyO_PmrVdU
And don't forget to Subscribe to my Youtube

Join my Steam Group
