I Like this game. I got it free and its so nice when u want to relax. It makes fun and maybe i buy the another games from the same developer. Keep it up :D cxrlo

Still early in to playing so I might update this review. The game is like Candy crush if it had met a simulator game. Here is a link to me playing the game- https://youtu.be/0Ddrm095jz4 Pro- A fun game. Relaxing. Nice Graphics Con- Nice Music (need a little more variety) Would have like a little more options. Would have like to see more simulation building and options.
Here is a quick look and my thoughts on this game in video form. https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=o1YEaYBOGn8 TL;DW: It's not a bad game if you enjoy relaxing games like Bejeweled. Games where you might not be having the absolute blast of a lifetime but you enjoy zoning out and listening to a podcast or watching youtube videos while you play.
5 Star Rio Resort is a casual puzzle and resort-building game developed and published by familyplay that combines management progression with match-based gameplay to create a relaxing experience centered around growth, customization, and tropical atmosphere. Built around the idea of transforming a small property into a luxurious vacation destination, the game focuses on steady advancement rather than high-pressure challenges. It takes familiar puzzle mechanics and blends them with light business management systems, creating an approachable experience aimed at players who enjoy progression-driven gameplay without overwhelming complexity. The story follows Lucy, a young woman hoping to prove herself worthy of carrying forward her family’s successful hotel legacy. Rather than inheriting success immediately, she begins with limited resources and a property that requires significant improvement. The objective becomes building a thriving resort capable of earning recognition while demonstrating her ability to manage and expand a hospitality business. While the narrative remains simple, it provides enough motivation to support long-term progression and gives purpose to each upgrade and expansion project. At the center of gameplay sits a familiar match-based puzzle structure. Players complete stages by connecting matching pieces to fulfill objectives and earn money needed for resort improvements. The mechanics remain easy to understand, allowing players to jump into progression quickly without lengthy tutorials or complicated systems. Puzzle difficulty increases gradually over time, introducing additional challenge while remaining accessible enough for casual audiences. The design emphasizes relaxation rather than frustration, making it approachable for players who prefer lighter puzzle experiences. The management elements create the strongest sense of progression throughout the game. Completing puzzle objectives generates resources that can be invested into expanding and improving the resort itself. Players gradually unlock new facilities and attractions designed to increase the appeal of the destination. Hotels, dining areas, entertainment spaces, swimming pools, fitness facilities, and other upgrades steadily transform the property into a more complete vacation retreat. Watching the resort grow visually over time creates satisfying momentum that keeps progression rewarding. One of the game's strengths comes from how effectively it ties puzzle completion to long-term development. Every successful challenge contributes directly toward larger goals, making individual puzzle stages feel meaningful rather than disconnected. The steady cycle of solving challenges, earning resources, and unlocking improvements creates an enjoyable rhythm that supports longer play sessions while remaining suitable for shorter bursts of gameplay. The tropical setting contributes significantly to the overall atmosphere. Bright environments, coastal scenery, palm trees, and colorful visual presentation help establish a relaxing vacation theme that complements the gameplay structure well. The presentation focuses on warmth and charm rather than realism, creating an inviting environment that aligns naturally with the game's casual identity. Building a luxurious resort feels more rewarding because the setting consistently reinforces the fantasy of creating an ideal getaway destination. Additional gameplay variety helps prevent progression from becoming too repetitive. Alongside the primary puzzle mechanics, smaller diversions appear during progression to introduce changes in pacing. These additions help maintain engagement during longer sessions while giving players alternative ways to interact with the broader progression systems. The game understands the importance of maintaining variety without disrupting the core gameplay loop. Progression systems remain intentionally straightforward throughout the experience. Unlockable improvements, facility expansions, and upgrade opportunities create a consistent sense of advancement without overwhelming players with excessive management responsibilities. The focus stays firmly on accessibility, making the game approachable for audiences who enjoy lighter simulation mechanics rather than highly detailed business management systems. The simplicity that makes 5 Star Rio Resort welcoming may also limit appeal for certain players. Those searching for deep management simulations with extensive customization systems and complex economic mechanics may find the experience too streamlined. Similarly, puzzle enthusiasts looking for highly innovative mechanics may encounter familiar systems rather than major genre reinvention. However, the game rarely aims for complexity. Its primary goal is creating a relaxing progression experience, and it remains committed to that direction throughout. What ultimately helps 5 Star Rio Resort succeed is its understanding of pacing and accessibility. It combines puzzle-solving and construction progression in a way that feels rewarding without becoming demanding. The satisfaction comes less from mastering difficult systems and more from watching a modest resort slowly evolve into a thriving destination through consistent effort and steady improvement. 5 Star Rio Resort delivers a comfortable and approachable experience that combines casual puzzle mechanics with satisfying progression systems. While it may not dramatically redefine either genre it borrows from, it successfully creates an enjoyable blend of resort management and puzzle gameplay that remains relaxing, accessible, and easy to return to over time. Rating: 7/10
С второго раза игра-таки зашла. Единственный минус - игра на ходы, это так же тупо как и три в ряд на время. Я в таких играх хочу расслабиться, а не нервничать из-за того, что время заканчивается. Но вполне неплохая игра на 7 часов
Fun theme. Only buy on sale.
If you enjoy match 3 games this will gives you tons of hours of enjoyment. 96 levels with powerups to use. Some levels are VERY hard to get 3 stars, but be aware if you don't use a powerup from a previous level you bring it to the next, so you can go back and grind for powerups to bring to a tough level. Level 94 is impossible without saved powerups.
