2024 U.S. Election Simulator

Something feels off about this. You can campaign in 1 state the whole game and still lose it. I have a feeling that every election is just RNG. I even tried pressing Next Turn every round without doing anything (did this on a few playthroughs) and somehow still won the election. With each election being RNG means every single achievement is also RNG. Also all the reviews are fake. Everyone has barely any time played and only 1 review each, all with a 0 steam level. The one reviewer that has 6 reviews (4 of them are on this developers games "Premier Buggy Racing Tour", "Roulette Simulator 2", "Roulette Simulator", and "2024 U.S. Election Simulator").

Обе стороны задействуют всевозможные рычаги популяризации себя в глазах избирателей, ставя на кон буквально всё, лишь бы обеспечить последующие 4 года правления победившему на внутрипартийных праймериз кандидату. После громкой победы Трампа в 2024, мне, естественно, захотелось опробовать игру, симулирующую американские выборы. На удивление, "2024 U.S. Election Simulator" оказалась единственным более-менее вразумительным вариантом из немногих других доступных в стиме. По крайней мере, такое впечатление сформировалось по обложке... [u]Преимущества:[/u] ● Концепция. Исходя из введения, выборы президента США — интересная, думаю, не только для меня тема, а значит, что симуляторы чего-то подобного определённо должны существовать. ● Дизайн. Незамысловатый, но... с изюминкой? Цвета хорошо гармонируют друг с другом, а редкий текст, возникающий в некоторых игровых окнах, читается легко и непринуждённо. Также, что немаловажно, круто реализована симуляция подсчёта голосов: одни штаты обретают цвет сразу без каких-либо эффектов, а другие выводятся на экран в виде симпатичной таблички, содержащей проценты голосов и количество избирателей. ● Простота. Игра обладает низким порогом вхождения, так как является пошаговой и предоставляет время на обдумывание каждого хода. Вовсе необязательно быть заядлым стратегом, чтобы попробовать выиграть президентские выборы в США [spoiler](в игре, разумеется 🙂)[/spoiler]. ● Настройки. Перед началом предвыборной гонки можно настроить некоторые параметры, влияющие на геймплей, как, например, фактор рандома или карту штатов в разные десятилетия. ● Цена. Стандартная цена "2024 U.S. Election Simulator" пугает, но скидка, мелькающая время от времени, способна подарить возможность приобрести игру всего за 32 рубля, что вполне приемлемо для такого проекта. [u]Недостатки:[/u] ● Контент. Несмотря на условную "простоту", в игре совершенно нечем заняться спустя час-два геймплея. Не хватает ивентов, каких-то визуальных событий, да и сами игровые механики могли бы быть чуть более углублёнными, учитывая безграничную любовь разработчика к ИИ. ● ИИ. Да... Слишком много искусственного интеллекта на 1 пиксель игры. У меня нет претензий к тому, что разработчик использовал вспомогательный инструментарий, но глядя на некоторые портреты, однозначно артефачные, становится не по себе. ● Технические недоработки. Увы, но мне совсем не понять, почему разработчик посчитал, что этой игре не нужен полноэкранный режим. Вместе с этим нет и ползунков громкости, что вынуждает лезть в микшер ОС для убавления звука всей игры. Багов же всего два: овербуст ИИшной дикторши и путаница в названиях штатов во время объявления результатов. ● Локализация. Нет сомнений в том, что английский язык в "2024 U.S. Election Simulator" — это база, но всё же было бы замечательно иметь несколько других переводов, расширяющих круг потенциальных игроков данной игры. ● Безразличие разработчика к проекту. Насколько мне известно, создатель игры "перевыпустил" тот же самый проект под иным, но схожим названием, суть которого осталась прежней, а игровые механики пополнились нововведениями. Для чего тогда эта игра, не заточенная под развитие, непонятно. ● Ограничение функций профиля. Данная игра не будет отображаться ни в списке идеальных после получения всех достижений, ни на витринах профиля, а о коллекционных карточках можно даже и не думать. ● Рандомайзер. Самый ужасный минус данной игры, который я заметил не сразу. Все действия, осуществляемые игроком, не имеют совершенно никакого смысла, так как результаты выборов формируются за счёт рандомной генерации значений. Это катастрофа, весь игровой функционал оказался иллюзией. [u]Вывод:[/u] После обнаружения рандомности формирования результатов, я никому не порекомендую покупать данное чудо. Если имеется желание ознакомиться с визуальным представлением альтернативных выборов, то вуаля, а в остальном — полный мусор. This game is okay, but still leaves a lot to be desired. For those that are wondering, it works well on the Steamdeck & uses the tracking pads. I'll get in to what I like: * It is simplified & mostly easy to understand. * On election night, you get to see the map as the results start to come in & it even has projected winners. ---------------------------------------------------------------- For a political simulator game it is very bare bones. Here's what could be added to improve it: * Allow players to give their candidate & their opponent(s) names & not just select randomly generated names. * While some basics on political issues are covered such as the economy, national defense, border security, & the environment, it is lacking in other areas. What about Constitutional issues (free speech, gun control, etc.)? Immigration? Repealing certain laws? What I mentioned just bare scratches the surface. * Allow players the option to create a custom third party, complete with custom party logo & determine their party's primary color ( for map tracking purposes). * Allow players the option to play as a third party candidate. While it hasn't happened yet, its still a far off possibility. If you get enough people steamed at the two major parties, they have been know to throw their support behind a third party candidate. * Allow players to completely customize the two major parties involved. Allow the option to determine what those parties will be & allow customization of their party logos & their party's main color (purple, yellow, green etc). * When playing, allow the player to determine where their candidate's home state is. In elections, sometimes a home state can give a candidate an advantage. * I like how you get to choose electoral maps from various years like 2000, 2012, & 2020. Would it be possible to include electoral maps every election year since 1952? * Speaking of the electoral map, what about allowing a player to customize their own electoral map? Give players the option to determine toss up states, blue states, & red states (or gray states, orange states, & turquoise states) . Allow players to also determine the number of turns they have prior to the actual election. * Between turns, have news updates on the player's progress & the opponent's progress (such as newspaper headlines, TV news reports (coverage of a campaign stop in a state), or interview. Like I said before, it you like a simple, easy-to-understand campaign simulator, this game is good for that. If you're expecting something with more details, then you'll be severely disappointed. On a scale of 1 to 5, I give the game a 2.

Nothingburger. Played and tried, narrowly won. Played and did absolutely nothing, narrowly won. Absolutely do not buy this full price.

I bought this looking for a strategy game where your actions matter, I FOUND a game where nothing matters. Everything is RNG. You can click and do all the events you want in a certain state and yet nothing really changes. Its basically a point and click where nothing matters and you get to sit through a FIVE MINUTE long thing at the end where it announces the winner of the game. The photos and the voice over instructions are all done by AI, which in my opinion is lazy. Overall this game is nowhere near worth 10$ maybe 2-3$ if you are lucky. Your choices do not matter the section at the end where results are announced is way too long. The photos are all done by AI. Just overall this does not seem like a product they put a lot of thought or attention into. 2/10 would not recommend.

Easy achievements, good game.

This is the first time I've ever seen a turn-based political election game. It's fun if you're into politics.

I enjoy the game, but some basic improvements in the election night coverage would go a long way: - need the ability to see what the margins were in states called (not just the random sample displayed) - need to see what the margins are prior to states being called - need to see what % has been counted both prior to the call and afterwards - ideally, display the county level data Still, it's a niche market and props for making the game.
