A math/deckbuilding/puzzle game with DNA from Slay the Spire and Balatro, brought to you via a procession of endlessly adorable animals to add to your deck (which combined with the "board" you play each round on makes it feel a bit like the board game like Wingspan). Very fun, very creative and well designed, very kid-friendly.
Played the demo to oblivion, full version finally here, so let me tell you... DO NOT get deceived by cutesy graphics and seemingly casual veneer. This is one brute of a 'numbers go up' game. Sure, lower difficulties should be a breeze, more of a check if you have a grasp on what you can cook. And then the endless, director difficulty and challenges are there to squeeze your bollocks and demand that you have a pretty nasty numbers engine hidden in your hexes. You can snap the game with some RNG luck over a knee, make creatures that crate impossible numbers, trillions, quantillions, you name it. There are seemingly COUNTLESS ways to create a lovely machine of scoring points - win with one color, win with rainbows, win by making the tiles on the board give anything you place there +100 000 points multiple times. Win with summon, copying creatures, multiple recasts... Countless interactions and mechanics to explore. Delicious game. 10/10, perfect peer of its genre.

Fantastic game at the start with lots of fun synergies to be had. The game however suffers greatly from a lack of balance that isn't a problem at lower difficulties. At the hardest difficulty it is entirely possible to do everything right and not win day one just through rng of placement and cards drawn. This trend continues as the game progresses where you can play your best and just come up short by a lot. Some heroes have an easier time than others. This is fine, but I'm convinced that the three starter heroes are nearly impossible to complete on the highest difficulty without godly rng. Other heroes though will have a much easier time. Over all I think that the easiest fix to this is a rework of the Starter Decks as 2/3rds of each starter deck is filled with low point no ability units that are just deadweight. While I think you can get your month's worth now I would wait for a balance pass or for a deeper sale.
There's certain things about Zoominoes that I think could really add more depth to the decision-making processes, especially allowing you to sell snacks, or having more non-snack methods of card burn. It's still absolutely fantastic though, and really feels like a full game. Just beat my first run on curator, and it was a blast. Some animals scale FAR better than others, and some feel like they'll never quite keep up with the scaling of difficulty at curator/director, but it's still an absolute blast.
Somehow managed to get 2.33E167 on "Endless Mode" which isn't really endless because the last day goal is Infinity ... Anyways I could have gotten more but my dang common birds kept accidentally multiplying because of a single random souvenir (I had hundreds). Such a fun little game <3
It's good, I like it
