New video https://youtu.be/2EqokAlWc7g Original video https://youtu.be/6zF-dO1r3FE The highlight reel looks entertaining enough but when it comes down to it, is the game worth 19.,99? I really do hate to say it, but it was all around, not enjoyable. I'd love to say it's got a good foundation to build on but the game is so rough right now it's hard to tell. VR Graphics 5/10 Audio 5/10 Controlls 1/10 Performance 3/10 Fun factor 3/10 This is not a diamond in the rough EA title. It's very early alpha gameplay. Controls are not smoothed out and often fail to execute. (Climing, holstering, reloading, etc) Audio isn't that great. (overall quality) The positional audio definitely needs more attention. Could not tell where sounds were coming from. Game balance and difficulty need adjusting and some things need a consistency pass. For example, same zombie model, same weapon, one takes 1 shot to the face and dies, the other takes 4 with no visible difference between zombies. Reload speed is painfully slow. I could release 2-3 times manually in Onward in the time it takes to load one mag here. I wouldn't say it's worth the 19.99 or even the current sale price of 17.99. If you're looking for a game to play for fun and entertainment, I'm not sure I'd spend 1/4 that on the current iteration. Which is painful to say because I was really hoping this would be good, as you can tell by the start of the video above. If you like being a part of an EA community and testing early builds, you may still be interested but I think for most I'd have to not recomend the game. Hopefully DonkeyKwon can turn this around and I can update this in a few months to a much more positive review. DK was quick to answer my post when I was having issues starting the game and that seems to be consistent across the Discussion boards. He seems passionate about his game and open to suggestions which earns him my respect and I'll be cheering him on and checking in from time to time. I'm genuinely sad giving this a thumbs down.
This game was completely unplayable for me. I started the tutorial. I was not easily able to drop guns, guns would not fire, I could not figure out how to reload, climbing worked 1 out of 100 times I did the suggested motion, and I could not progress in the tutorial. I've played tons of VR so far, and many early access titles, but this was by far the most unfinished. I basically could not do anything.
ZombVR the worst VR Zombie if not the worst Zombie game I have ever played. The only highlight was the song about the end of the world. It was so ♥♥♥♥ it was hilarious I had recorded gameplay and was hoping to make a short video with the song. But ♥♥♥♥ me the audio mirror for the Vive turned itself off again and I can't stomach playing this game again to record it. This shouldn't be on steam and TBH if you have paid $14.00 for this I feel your pain, don't bother just burn 14 dollars and enjoy watching money alight it's more entertaining than this pile of glued together crap. NO God, games like these make me angry.
This game is shapeing up quite niceley, definitely worth picking up.
I had à try to this game and just wanted to support thé dev team as it is à small team and it is so much fun to bé able to actually really run wherever you want with a free move control system. Sure the game is at his early stage but it is playable and I feel the basis is here. ( once again it is not a AAA game). Dev team are really listening and very present on forum for now. I really hope it will get the success it deserve and the dev will be able to reach their goals (and ours)
This game is headed in the right direction. though it still has its bugs once you get used to it you want to play more and more. i will check back after each update just to see how its progressing because i want to play through entire game one day and dont want to ruin it for myself. The game is pretty much there and playable with recent updates and im glad to see im not a foot taller than all the zombies anymore...lol.... now some are taller than me and it makes them all that much more intimidating, guns work great now and i wanted to keep playing but im gonna let this game cook a little longer. keep up the good work devs...
Seems to be an abandoned title. Laterst discussion topic is from 2016. There doesn't seem to be any story to speak of. You spawn in a level, and shoot at zombies spawning at you. the controls are clunky, confusing, overly complex and unresponsive, and I spent most of the time playing this trying to figure out how to get rid of the huge square-shaped grenade menus above my hands because of the tracpad movement being my preferred mode of locomotion and the trackpad left button brings it up if you press it by accident. Drawing and holstering weapons is awkward. Enemies seem to be able to move inside the player hitbox, at which point you are pretty much screwed as you can't shoot the zombies or hit something inside you with melee. The weapons and the sound effects feel weak. That's about all the sound effects I heard so far, the zombies have learned to shuffle without making any kind of sound. The models are pretty low quality (blue-faced zombies?) and the levels, if you can call them that, are uninspired and lack any detail, much like the zombies themselves. Graphically it reminds me of Second Life in 2006. I got this game as part of a Bundle, and I still feel ripped off. Save your money, and buy something else.
I really recommend this game for all zombie lovers. The graphics aren't top-notch, but it's understandable for an Early Access game. The core systems of the game seem to be coming together (I read the patch notes and saw that the devs have really stepped up in the last 2 weeks) and I had a lot of fun today playing the Lone Survival mode. The gun reloading animation seems smooth and I appreciate that the devs added in 2 types of locomotion. Personally I prefer the pad movement over teleportation; it is just easier to move around this way and shoot zombies. I love that there is a Katana that I can use as well as multiple pistols and other melee weapons. It would be nice if more automatic guns and possibly grenades were added! I was even able to holster 2 melee weapons behind my back and 2 guns on my sides while still currently holding weapons! There are still a couple of glitches and the animations can be a lot better, but I assume those will be worked on near full release. The performance is really smooth for my GTX970 on all modes (though sometimes zombies spawned on the roofs of cabins in the snow level) and the zombies are huge! It took me awhile trying out the jumping, but have been able to scale so many different places in the game already (that I don't think you're supposed to be climbing!). The music is pretty great, and the audio for everything else (guns, headshot sounds, etc) seem to be shaping up well. Being able to explore the subway and upper level was really cool. You can go into houses and up stairs and shoot/jump out windows which is really neat in VR. Hoping to see a lot more maps like this in the future. Overall, from the updates and patches that have been coming in on a regular basis, I can see this game reaching great potential. The subway station reminded me of a Korean zombie movie that came out recently (Train to Busan) and I extremely enjoyed shooting zombies in there. It still needs a lot of work but the devs are really active here and have a real chance at making this great. (Hopefully they don't mess it up!) I'm excited to see how the full release will be like (including MP and coop!). Keep up the great work.
