You're not a bad guy just because you have murderers as friends and holy knights want to kill you, right? Lone is on a quest with his two big axes and three loyal friends to find the four artifacts he needs in a world he doesn't bother to understand.

Got during the summer sale for $5.
Pros:
The character and environment designs are both bright and refreshing. From the races to the outfits to the mud swamp and the forest of giant cranberries, the imagery is an intravenous injection of pure creativity to a gaming industry gridlocked by timid reboots and safe sequels. The artwork is good quality and the animations are fluid. The story and worldbuilding are great too. Lone is a simple but effective character that spurs fun interactions with his naive innocence and provokes your curiosity by whimsically brushing off explanation of his actions, almost like a satire of video game motivation. The eventual reveal of his memory also brings a novel take to the whole "amnesia" trope. The gameplay is good. Nothing fantastic. Even on marauder mode you'll be able to kill 90% of bosses by running up to them and mashing the attack button after loading up on extra health which you can purchase from vendors. The remaining 10% just make you figure out some gimmick like "can only be damaged by power attacks" or something. The only way it's gonna resemble anything "complicated" is if you try for a no damage run or something. However, all 4 of the main characters have unique playstyles and the game does a good job of presenting opportunities for one to accomplish a task more efficiently than the others. There are also numerous ways to further customize each character's playstyle. The music is some of the best I've heard since Cuphead. No glaring bugs that I found.
Cons:
The humor. Unless you like Amy Schumer you're going to cringe every time they make what can only be described as a 5 year old's attempt at a dirty joke. They just cram in sex at every opportunity to the point that it feels lazy and disgusting. One of the main characters does nothing but talk about how she wants to bone Lone. There's a gay blowjob scene right on camera. Three (3) separate references are made to having sex with a 7 year old girl. What's the joke even supposed to be? "Pedophilia is funny"? It reeks of desperation and you're just gonna end up sighing and waiting for them to get back to the story. They say that the hardest jokes to tell are the innocent ones, and these guys need to challenge themselves. The fact that monsters respawn upon leaving a room also made the game really easy because you could exploit a non-threatening spawn for health and money drops. Could stand to be better balanced. Overall 7/10, satisfied with the hours I dumped into it. Would like to see the universe fleshed out some more.
its great
Played the free version, though it was way too hard (it didn't have the Bard setting), so I had to delete it. But it *did* get me very much interested in the game, so as soon as I got paid I bought it. And I have to say, it's totally worth the price. I've just started it, so I can't say too much in the way of a review, but I will say it's starting out with a lot of promise. The artwork makes me smile, and the humor is right up my alley. I definitely recommend this.
For a game made by a single person, this is incredibly impressive. The amount of content here is commendable and enjoyable to the point where I find myself engaged for hours. The partners and characters are unique and very engaging and the gameplay is solid. Some things worth noting is that some of the forced and crude humor may be offensive, so expect things to go from 0 to 100 very fast. Aside from some few questionable dialogues in the story, this is a very solid game that I enjoyed to the end.
I'm listing the "Cons" first because I believe they outweigh the "Pros" I played for an hour or two and had to request a refund due to the explicit dialog. I normally dont request a refund on any game after I try it. Before I purchased I read that there was no story; I thought "as long as the gameplay is good, I'll try it out." The story is so bad and non-existant it makes you quit the game. Dont get sucked into the pretty screen shots of this. The gameplay isnt enough to carry it. Avoid this game. Cons Explicit sexual dialog. Story sucks, there is no story. Feels like a 13 year old wrote all the dialog thinking it would be funny...its not. Gameplay is "OK" The game is not fun to play Pros The artwork is nice
I am impressed that good game was made by 1 person using SFML and C ++. I had a lot of fun playing and I will definitely come back to it! Best regards ;)
Passendes Spiel für zwischendurch mit erwachsenen humor und einen schweren nicht story relevanten endgame mehr braucht es nicht.
* Extremely floaty controls. * Huge knock-back. * Platforms that crumble when you land on them. * While bats swoop at you. * And moths(?) bounce up and down between platforms. * And some platforms have spikes that shoot up every few seconds. * All above spikey pits. * With 4 HP. And this is the first area. I finally completed it and decided to start over in easy mode, which gives you 10 hp and several rings to make hearts drop more often and things like that. I get through the first area again and get to the second, right after talking to the brother and sister that casually mentioned their sodomy with each other. * The moths now shoot fire balls at you about once per second. * There are rotating spikey balls swirling around the platforms. I spent about 4 minutes being tossed around, falling down, bouncing off spikey balls and landing on spikey floors before deciding I had a ton of better games to play. This is stupidly hard and frustrating, but not in the fun, Super Meat Boy way. Edit: Yes, I wrote this after rage-quitting, but I re-read it a few hours later and stand by all of it.
