Zen Chess: Champion's Moves is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam. It's a very simple Chess based puzzle game. You're presented with a chessboard with a game in play. In a deviation from the other copy+pastes of this game, instead of getting a checkmate in a specific number of moves, you're presented with the final moments of a game played between grandmasters of the game, and you must discern the final move that lead to victory. The problem here is that while titans of the game certainly played interesting games, they also knew when they were beat and resigned. So you can't see a checkmate and must frustratingly guess at the move that leads, not to a checkmate, but just to whatever made the other player feel they weren't going to win. This isn't as much fun as forcing a checkmate. While the chess puzzles are clever and engaging for chess fans, it's not as good as the other games in the series, and the delivery of this mobile app on Steam is lacklustre. Resolution is locked and the chess depiction is a very simple, web browser tier affair that offers little inspiration to PC gamers. Games don't exist in a vacuum. This paid mobile app on Steam doesn't offer anything that free mobile apps don't. If you want to play this kind of game, don't pay for this mobile app cash grab, because you can play these kinds of games free on the web or in free mobile apps.

Put yourself in the shoes of the great chess players and make those same last moves that were decisive for the victory of the game. It is a very interesting experience, even more you try to compare it with the move you would try to make in that situation. It helps to improve your game decisions.
Nice game. 150 levels, 4 hours to complete. Be aware of an error in level 47. If you are stuck, and given that these are historical games you can look for the full game transcriptions in internet.
I found the game fun, for those who like to study chess it will certainly be a delicious game it shows some classic chess games and you will have to discover how the master champion of that game managed to win, they are complex and interesting problems.
A look at some grandmaster games and their outcomes.
Puzzle 47 has an error with an illegal move. I think I've noticed errors in the puzzles before also.
Fun
Zagadki szachowe (150/150) ukończone w 6h czasu przeznaczonego na grę i naliczonego przez Steam. Optymalizacja gry na tragicznym poziomie. Brak możliwości kontynuacji posunięć do ostatecznego mata.
