Z.A.T.O. // I Love the World and Everything In It

This is art. At first I thought this VN was about this neurodivergent girl who keeps excusing her existence and taking the worst things in her life as pieces of kindness sent from the universe. The excusing got on my nerves, also the part of taking everything too well. Perhaps I saw a bit of myself in this caricatural exaggeration. I didn't wholly dislike it, the dialogue, the characters, felt pretty lifelike, even the protagonist. The banter is funny, the chemistry between the characters is lovely and the disconnects, the begging, the anger is all too real and sad. The music and the photorealistic baked scenery are also wonderful. The drawings are cute, I really liked it. The opening is a vibey work of art in itself, and the writing is phenomenal because it's a lot like poetry - it changes you after you read it. Then the story got more abstract and interesting in a weird way. It was like a paranormal soviet story like Stalker, but happier and warmer. It left an impression - I'm not sure how to describe it, something like a warm but aching feeling, like standing close to a campfire in a cold night. Sometimes I worry I'm too much like Asya and, after the end, I kinda wish I'd be just a little more like her. I love this game.

finished 5.8 hours, Great VN shouldnt be free, Loved the views of the world and everything in it. end was a bit confusing as not being fully explained.
