My friend who I play Counter Strike with said if I post a review on Youchosis and it gets 20 likes and 50 Awards that he will buy me a RTX 4060. So im just gonna leave this here. Help me bro
If anyone interested, type AubreyZm in youtube search and look for channel with a clown doll, this game seems to be a tribute to the wacky videos from that creator, love the vibes by the way. After the last patch the developer made the game somewhat playable as opposed to it running at 5 frames on release, so I decided to rewrite the review, as it's not completely accurate. I suppose it's a bit like LSD/Dream Emulator, but more linear, with some progression forks here and there. The big issue is that this game is way too obtuse. I have been trying to figure out some of the rooms for hours, and there is not a hint, or a clue, or anything that would give me an idea regarding wtf it wants me to do. There should be multiple endings, but good luck finding them. I don't think the game is nearly as bad as some people claim, there is clearly some passion to it, and I love the soundtrack as well, it's just the technical issues and potential softlocks that ruin it. You really need to make sure people can intuitively make progress through the game, the objectives in some of these rooms either unclear, or seem to softlock you if you fall. That said, even though this game heavily repurposes those videos, I still think some of the stages are just divine in terms of immersion, "Dream-Core" is what you call it? Is that the actual name for this style, or we just made that up. If um, fixing the game is too much work, maybe a free level select would make a nice alternative, at least that way people can experience some of this nonsense and its devilishly divine soundtrack. I could not get very far, not that I didn't try, the game is just not working for me properly, and I am in a constant cycle of exiting and entering the game again.
Pros:
(+) The psychotic vibes in this game are really something, it's like over the top, over the top, and over the top again. Like this game is actually hurting my eyes, my head, and my ear drums. Loving it... (+) Man I really love the music, if this broken mess never goes anywhere, would love at least the soundtrack reupload or DLC, as a last resort redemption. (+) The narrative seems pretty neat, except well the game is too broken to make progress. But I assume it's pretty cool
Feedback:
Update: the frame-rate was somewhat fixed in the patch - there are places where you can get stuck, many of them, is there no way to exit to main menu? Could really use it... - why not reset the player to the start of the stage if they fall instead of main menu - improve the visibility of those boxes, and maybe the range at which they can trigger on door - some rooms seem to be either softlocked, or the hints are so obscure I have no clue what to do. Maybe make sure the player either can’t enter unplayable area, or provide more guidance if that is not the case - your game starts in a black screen until you expand the window - (fixed) many of the stages run at like 5 frames a second, so I think you have 2 choices, you either attempt to fix the every single one of them, or.... you could add a level select, so people can at least $$$$ around in them and still experience at least some parts of it - the death cutscene is too long - can you upload this divine soundtrack as DLC? Overall Thoughts: Divine trash from the depth of Hell Would be amazing weird experience, it's just so delightful in how over the top it is. But the game seems to be virtually unplayable, glitchy, unintuitive, no way to reset from softlocks, and it runs like crap depending on the level. I hope you can fix it, the world deserves a game that makes your ears bleed and ruins your eye sight. I assume it's a cool game, but I literally can't play it, it's so broken. I am really disappointed you can't have sex with her.
the asthetics and gameplay is fun and all but there are a few problems only the text appears late after the sound of a character was made, there's no really much of an indicator where to go, i started by the intro, and when i was able to move it told me to pick the boxes up, and this game doesn't really have an option to presss esc for a pause menu to check what the controllers as far as im aware, so i had to close and reopen the game again to check the controllers properly, and even then as far as im aware there isn't really an option to fast through the dialogue so i had to repeat the slow dialogue before gameplay, and when i finally finished the second door it teleported me back to the first map i was in with no indicator what to do next it's just repeated the first dialogue when i spawned in, and when i found the third door it told me to find the "black door" when i was in a black void, and there again no indicator on what to do or where to go i couldn't even play through the game. (I'm not hating on the game im just saying there are improvements that needs to be made to make the game playable) PS: i didn't even know you could extend the game screen by using your mouse there's no indicator how to do that, i only found out when i read one of the other reviews, I do think there should be a menu option or something and settings too
Game uses 8gb ram on the menu, takes ages to boot. When I get in I can't figure out what to do. I appreciate the art style but I need more gameplay.
I tried out the game, i really wanted to like it and i was screensharing it to my friends and stuff. You hear the audio of the text dialogue, but u don't see it until 5 seconds after hearing it. I like the voice acting! but i can't really hear the character due to the music being too loud, i would also suggest making the audio for the text a lot quieter (or atleast a menu to turn it down) I was also very confused as to what's happening, i feel like there needs to be more to help the player. I also crashed the first time 😭😭 I love the style and this person seems very talented in what they do! I just wish this game gave the player more control as to how they would like the play the game! Examples like A menu for volume option to decrease the blur/bloom A keybind to help skip dialogue if need be! I wish i had more to say about the game as for constructive Criticism, but i was starting to get a really bad headache on the first part and i also think the game bugged out when i went through the door & everything was REALLY loud. For now, i wouldn't recommend the game since there is a lot to improve and i feel like if it were to be more polished in its development then i would reccommend the game for first comers but it really does have potential & i admire the style.
i honestly really love this game. yes the load uptime takes forever it counts up too 3601 until its done loading so have patience. When you get to start moving around after the intro its going to be very confusing, don't let that scare you! once you know what your looking for , the game wont look so confusing i promise! there so many different possibilities in this game. there are rooms that work and some that are a dead ends. downside is when that happens i have to shut the game down completly and start again. there are no options to esc and go back to the main menu so an update on that would be amazing! I just beat the game today and am planning on making a run through video about it. Ill post the link here when I do. overall this game is so unique, the music is dope and i love the trippy-ness of it all. please give this game a try and stick it out! i'm about 9 hours in and now about to run it again to see if there are any alternate endings! i really hope this creator will make similar games to this i really really enjoyed this!
Youchosis is an incredibly interesting game and I want to recommend it so badly I see the potential with the odd story and the incredibly weird art style I usually love games like this i have 556 hours on Psychopomp and i absolutely loved the trippy weird and grotesque art and story of that game but that game doesnt recommend I have a 4060 im currently rocking a smooth 5080 so the game ran fine for me but i see a lot of people who werent so lucky the voice acting is decent and i love the way the Clown lady looks (cant remember her name) and i really think the idea is interesting but the gameplay is pretty barebones lacking much direction (though that could be a user issue) its choppy doesnt make much sense is littered with bugs. (for instance the game launches in a black screen and required resizing the window for it to work, or sometimes jumping off the map you dont hit a kill box so your stuck falling forever) I think this game has a long way to go and as it stands right now i just cant recommend it but i 100% see the potential i plan to play it some more and see if anything changes in the way i view this game assuming this is the creators first time making a game like this you outta be proud the visuals are awesome and the story (albeit confusing) was so interesting but you got some work to do
Youchosis was in some blue loading screen that was taking forever to do anything so give up on it a update on my reviews got it to work the game play is ok just hard to tell what to do and was bit hard to see what you are going sadly this game is not for me
