About

You came here seeking silence. Instead, you found something that won't let you leave.

YAMIGATARI: FOR3ST is a 2D psychological horror game that tells the chilling story of a young girl trapped in a nightmare she cannot escape. What began as a peaceful retreat into nature quickly transforms into a desperate fight for survival when Nora discovers an entity stalking her through the trees. This thing feeds on isolation and fear, growing stronger the more lost she becomes. Survival isn't about combat. It's about maintaining your grip on reality while something inhuman hunts you and the forest refuses to let you leave.
Nora's journey began as an escape from the noise of life. Now she runs from something far worse. The entity doesn't chase with rage—it follows with patience, always present, always watching.

True Psychological Horror – Mounting dread and oppressive atmosphere. No cheap scares.
Atmospheric Pixel Art – Retro-style visuals that contrast beauty with terror.
Environmental Storytelling – Piece together the forest's secrets through subtle clues.

Immersive Sound Design – Every audio cue matters when something is hunting you.
Solo Survival Experience – You are alone. Completely, utterly alone... or are you?

Reviews
Overall I enjoyed this game. It is about a short 4 hour game that has dark undertones where the protagonist is trying to escape sinister forces in the forest. The voiced lines are great for those who prefer narrated stories. Also great for those who enjoy puzzles. The only complaint is that some events in the game require you to look at all objects even though you may deduce the answer to some puzzles or could bypass certain actions. Also there may not be as much deep lore for some horror fans but at the same time it might make the experience better for some. The biggest pro is that it works on the Steam deck without any issues, so a great indie game on the go. Disclosure: I received a free review copy of this product from https://www.keymailer.co
