Yakuza 5 Remastered

main story? what's that? my favorite game in the franchise for sure, had already played before but bought it on steam because I love it so much. the minigames are some of the best, could literally play some of them for hours if they were standalone games. the story is fine for how much they tried to stretch it out, dreams and all. my favorite combat system, really fun to just pick it up and fight street encounters, which there are WAY too many in every single city. of course very long due to how big the lore is (and still some things aren't properly explained?). if you're up for grinding on the minigames and spending lots of time doing side quests and watching cutscenes (they are very looong) then this game is for you.

Indian soap opera tier story, cutscenes that never end and plagued by technical issues. It started crashing on startup and the only way to fix it is to switch Steam to offline mode, which disables achievements. Skip this broken port if you can.

I've played all the main games of the series when I had it on Xbox, and Yakuza 5 is my favorite. Yes, it is a lot especially with 4 different campaigns, but the overall story and theme is one of my favorites. Definitely cried a lot, especially at the finale. Haruka was such a cutie in this game, love her.
