I've played XCOM 2 ever since it came out on xbox one. I have yet to be disappointed in the game, there's just so much you can do and so many ways you can play it. I would ask my friends and family if they would like to be soldiers in the game and give them updates periodically to let them know how their characters were doing in the war. If you want to play any tactical turn based game, I would highly recommend this one.
Great strategy turn based action game

Best ever!

I loved the early and midgame but the late game turns into such a slog that i didnt end up finishing the campaign. Game also runs well on my potato laptop so thats good.
In heavily modded XCOM 2, cover is no safety. Just take them down before they can react. Strike, retreat, counterattack. Excellent game, still remember the free weekend when it first launched. My PC could barely run it on the lowest settings. I did not close the game after the free trial ended, kept it running until my computer crashed later that week. I remember that happened during my first fight with an Andromedon. If you look past the math, and view the game as a simulation of combat, it is much more fun than pulling hair over numbers. I recommend not using Ironman with mods, but reloading saves outside of being soft-locked is a waste of your time and denies you the opportunity to learn from your mistakes. Don't always take the highest percentage shot, make the best choice. Retreat if needed, discretion is the better part of valor. Try not to rush, but moving swiftly is necessary. Adapt your strategy to the situation, learn from experience when to spread out and when to consolidate. However, soldiers who fight alone often fall alone. I believe going in blind without watching other people play is the most interesting way to experience a game like this. Checking the settings for extra controls on shortcuts can be helpful. Good luck, commander.
