Still the Gold Standard of turn-based tactics games a decade later.
Really fun game that is easy to get into
10/10 One of my top 5 games ever. One of my most proud gaming achievements is beating this game on Ironman Legend. The gameplay is extremely satisfying and rewards you for learning how to most optimally play. I almost gave up my Ironman run after a devastating loss, but picking yourself up and continuing on to beat the final mission by the skin of your teeth is a crazy experience. Great tactics, great story, great gameplay. The WOTC DLC elevates this to an even better experience. I would also download some UI mods such as icon color changes and resolution/naming changes.
Generational classic that improved Xcom Enemy Unkown / Enemy Within in basically every way. Every so often I come back to do another playthrough. Great mod support that can change the game dramatically for replayability. If you don't own this game you do yourself a disservice to not play it. Still holding out hope for Xcom 3 some day. Phoenix Point just didn't hit the same as this gem of a game, even though it was also worth the purchase.
Tactical hell.
Simply one of the best turn based strategies ever made. Great gameplay, great graphics, great story, this game has it all with both combat missions and base management. This game is still worth it even 10 years after release!
