About
Xargon Remake Ep.1 is a run and gun 2d action platformer where the player advances through a game map by completing levels. Each level has its unique nonlinear layout, where the player must explore and find door keys and artifacts for progression, as well as new enemies, item pickups and different power-ups.
This is a remake of the classic 1993 DOS video game Xargon, developed by Epic Megagames, under the supervision of Allen Pilgrim. The original game has three episodes, this version is a remake of the first episode.
The graphics in each level layout, from the original game, have been replaced with new assets and textures.
All enemies' sprites from the original game are enhanced and upscaled, as well as new enemies and bosses are introduced.
The remake features new stages which are accompanied with new power-ups that the player can use.

Reviews
its better then the old one
Newly added parts are absolutely annoying completely destoying the original experience. I mean it's absolutely okay to rise enemy's ability to make the game more interesting, but adding new parts at the end of every level that are not only tough but you cannot save within the level and movement dynamics don't fit the challenge at all. So you end up playing the whole level over and over again only to get killed at a late stage every time. Killed it. So i can't recommend buying this. Instead download the original together with a DOS emulator. That's more fun.
Well I'm not sure where to start first it changes a lot, if you never played the real game maybe thats fine. I don't mind new things but it is subjective, I had trouble figuring out the jumping developer was nice enough to explain they used more modern jumping. I don't like the new animations either if you walk 3 feet it just keeps animating legs even though you are stationary. It also runs like crap that is probably my old pc but it is still the truth. The original is much better and totally free. I have changed my review I should have tried it on more powerful hardware before being negative.
