Worms World Party Remastered

No Longer Works on Windows 11, i just get a black square on the top left of my monitor then it crashes... better off playing the PS1 ver on PS5/PS4 instead.

Worms World Party was released back in 2001 and was the next game after the very popular Worms Armageddon, so expectations were high. It uses the same engine, so it’s very similar in terms of visuals and gameplay. It added some new features, with a bigger focus on online multiplayer, but overall, it feels slightly off. The single-player campaign has more missions. It’s a bit easier but less interesting, with more emphasis on platforming. And the weird ranking system is still here, so gold medals are annoying to get if you don’t earn them on your first try. There are more training missions, but for some reason time stops while using your weapons, so you can just spam them and still get great times. There’s also Time Attack, which consists of shorter, fast-paced missions. So there’s more single-player content overall. Now, this is the Remastered version, and that’s where the problems begin. The graphics got upgraded to 1080p and 60 FPS, there’s cloud saving, Steam achievements and leaderboards (but only for training and not Time Attack?), and average controller support. But this is the bare minimum for a remaster released 14 years later. And there are a lot of issues, like white windows appearing and FPS drops (which are fixable). Starting the game and going to the options for the first time greeted me with a black screen that only got fixed after changing the resolution. And many times, the game would constantly alt-tab after mouse clicks, which was irritating, especially because there’s no windowed mode. And returning to the game is a gamble: you can get back immediately, get stuck for a bit before being able to return, or have to force close it in Task Manager. Oh, and even after returning, the mouse may not work at all, so it’s back to alt-tabbing roulette. This was by far the most aggravating thing about this game for me. What makes all this sting even more is that Worms Armageddon, with all the updates over the years, doesn’t suffer from any of these issues and is stable for the most part. Not only that, but it also supports even higher resolutions and FPS, and has a windowed mode, among many other options. The cherry on top is that, despite the bigger focus on online multiplayer, almost no one is online, unlike Worms Armageddon. So, the only reason I can see for playing this is to experience the unique single-player content. Other than that, you’re just better off playing Worms Armageddon instead. But even then, with all the issues I’ve experienced, I have to give this a negative rating.

Одни из лучших, если не самые лучшие червяки, но конкретно у данного ремастера просто тонна багов и глюков, начиная с низкого фпс и вылетами из за сворачивания игры, заканчивая работающим онлайном ТОЛЬКО через статичный айпи и открытие портов. И если ФПС, вылеты, белые окна фиксятся через добавления червей в исключения дефендера, а также покопавшись в свойствах программы и поставя галочку, то онлайн вам будет доступен только если у Вас или вашего друга(зей) есть статичный айпи, в противном случае не подключитесь. А если Вам нужны ачивки, то именно у Вас должен быть статичный айпи. Если же закрыть глаза на минусы выше, то эти те же старые червячки года 2003. Это единственные червячки где практически все уровни из кампании мне понравились, да настолько, что я эту игру поставлю в один ряд с W.M.D. , настолько креативных и интересных уровней не было ни в одних червях. Также нельзя не упомянуть карты на которых сражаются червяки, опять же, эта часть лучшая из всех по генератору карт, были бы уже в этих червях форты как в будущих частях, наверное world party заиграла бы новыми красками. По итогу посоветовать к покупке я могу, но только если вы готовы вытерпеть все глюки этого ремастера, также если вы счастливый обладатель статичного айпи.

I love this game, but my minimum expectation was that it could... run... on a modern PC... cause its remastered and all.. but it can't... Can barely force close it :|

If you are just getting into this franchise I would say that either Armageddon or this is a good place to start. Note that some things behave slightly differently from Armageddon in this. There is a lot of fun to be had playing around with the different rule sets and the various things that have been improved including weapons movement and such are very much appreciated.

Unplayable from the begining its ok. next menu i choose missions and cant choose nothing . its on particles its like not compatible with windows 11 graphics are wrong rezolution is wrong

way too much troubleshooting work to make it run on modern systems despite being released as a remastered product... and even after you do their job to fix and run it without stutters, the difficulty on each level for the training and campaign missions varies so much between one and the next, those are either too dumb and easy or extremely autistic when it comes to performing perfectionist movements and shots (not to mention the missing content they removed out of fear for potential copyright infringement or just embarrassment to the company name (i'm not joking, search for the missing donkey kong "inspired" map for instance and prove me wrong)) tl;dr - time waster, hot garbage, the beginning of the end for the franchise, stay on armageddon

Game keeps crashing when I try to launch a game and I have tried multiple times to figure it out. I loved this game back in the day, but for now as I can't play it, i would not recommend it with new PCs anyway.

It doesn't work well with desktop mode. I get the white banner all the time when I'm trying to play other modes than regular, and I when I try to make a team it won't let me save it.
