After only 19 hours, I already feel like I've had enough. The game constantly throws premium ships in your face, and it feels like anyone willing to spend money gets a huge advantage. I know people will say "it's not pay-to-win," but when you're a new player getting shredded by premium ships with experienced captains, it definitely feels that way. The tech tree grind is painfully slow. Unlocking new ships takes forever unless you buy premium time or boosters. Instead of feeling rewarded for playing, it feels like the game is trying to push you toward spending money. I mainly play destroyers, and half the time I just feel like target practice for battleships. Battleships seem to get all the love, while destroyers are constantly punished for trying to do their job. One mistake and you're erased by a single salvo. It often feels like the game is designed around making battleships the stars of every match. I wanted to enjoy World of Warships, but after just 19 hours, I've spent more time frustrated than having fun. Between the slow progression, endless premium content, and gameplay that feels stacked against certain classes, I don't see myself sticking around.
Just not as fun as it used to be and wouldn't recommend nowadays. The few game modes that are there are stale and the ones we actually like are rotated out of selection every couple of months despite what the community wants. Map selection is somewhat scarce and bland once you've cycled through them. The monetization is also getting out of control with $110+ Admiral packs, they are greedier than Gajin and that says something. There are also too many funny buttons for high tier ships which cause only a handful (or two) of ships to be feasible at that tier making high tier even more cut throat than it needs to be; and that's still not taking into account you can easily get sneezed on from 25km-30km out and die instantly to begin with. To avoid this many players sit behind an island and never move leaving the caps wide open to the enemy since they are not in a position that can look over the cap area. Teamwork at the level is hit or miss (mostly misses) but you can definitely count on teammates cussing each other out for the smallest things or even for nothing. Overall the good days of WoWs are behind it and now it's the devs trying to keep this game from dying even though they are the reason it's in terrible shape.

Forced to link multiple accounts i do not remember, cant even play on steam now, tickets wont work, and am uninstalling this game, Worse Update ever GG, and goodbye.
At first, World of Warships is genuinely fun. The early tiers do a great job of introducing the mechanics and making you feel like the game only gets better from there. You unlock new ships, progress at a satisfying pace, and every match leaves you wanting to play one more. Then you reach the higher tiers, and that's when reality sets in. The game gradually transforms into something that, at times, is incredibly difficult to enjoy. Even PvE doesn't escape this problem. Instead of feeling like large-scale naval battles, many matches become long sessions of waiting, hiding behind islands, and hoping someone else makes the first mistake. The pace stops feeling tactical and starts feeling painfully slow. I understand that the game aims for realism. Battleships are supposed to be heavy, slow, and deliberate. The problem is that realism shouldn't come at the expense of fun. Once you cross a certain point, you're spending more time waiting than actually playing. Waiting for your ship to get into position. Waiting for your guns to reload. Waiting for an opportunity to shoot. And if you're playing a battleship? Missing a salvo feels like being punished with another 30 seconds of doing absolutely nothing. Meanwhile, smaller ships dictate the pace of the battle with superior mobility, faster reloads, and constant torpedo pressure. You'd think switching to cruisers or destroyers would solve the problem, but those come with their own frustrations. They often feel incredibly fragile, catching fire constantly or disappearing after only a couple of well-placed enemy salvos. The foundation of the game is honestly excellent. Naval combat has a lot of potential, and the atmosphere, ship models, and sound design are fantastic. That's what makes it so disappointing. It feels less like a game that's evolving and more like one that's been left on autopilot. Whether the developers have simply accepted the current state of the game or no longer see a reason to improve it, it's difficult not to feel that player enjoyment is no longer the priority. Server stability only makes things worse. My normal latency sits around 80–100 ms, which is perfectly playable, but it's surprisingly common for it to spike to 700–800 ms at the worst possible moment. In a game where every shot matters and reloads are measured in tens of seconds, those lag spikes are enough to ruin an entire match. Progression is another area where the game loses its appeal. For the first few hours everything moves quickly thanks to beginner bonuses and XP multipliers. Once those disappear, you finally see the real progression system, and it's painfully slow. Even with a Premium account, unlocking enough XP to research the next ship or upgrade your current one feels like an unnecessary grind rather than meaningful progression. Instead of motivating you to keep playing, it often feels like the game is testing your patience. I didn't even reach the point where coal, steel, and other endgame resource systems become relevant, but judging by the progression up to that point, I can't say I was excited to continue. Overall, I don't think World of Warships is a bad game. In fact, I think it's a game with an excellent core idea. The problem is that its pacing, progression, and overall design slowly work against that idea the longer you play. If you're looking for a few casual matches in the lower tiers, you'll probably have a great time. But if you're planning to invest serious time—or worse, serious money—I'd think twice. The further you progress, the more the game starts asking for your patience instead of rewarding your time, and eventually the mechanics themselves become the biggest obstacle to enjoying what should have been a fantastic naval combat experience. Peace.
There is way too much leveling up. It's not fun to play against ships that are two or three levels higher than you. It doesn't matter how good you are, the ships are too unevenly matched and it becomes a waste of time and an exercise in frustration.
I have been playing World of Warships for many a year. It has been enjoyable and the updates have made the game resilient thru time. Good controls, community and graphics.
