Adjust a planet's spin and watch its weather reorganise in real time. Slow a world's rotation and see its circulation widen into vast climate bands. Lock it to its star and watch a permanent storm ring form along the line between endless day and endless night. I'm posting a review since it seems like not many people are aware of this product existing: Really interesting middle-ground between something like doing an approximation of your world's climate on paper, and something more complex like running simulations on ExoPlaSim. There is a bit of a learning curve attached, though, since the smallest changes can have big impacts on your climate. I'm sure that the simulation needs some fine-tuning as well, as right now it feels like (even on default Earth-settings) the simulation underestimates precipitation, making deserts a very common occurrence. I've also experienced some simulations rapidly cooling around the time where stabilisation reaches around 98-99%, resulting in a way cooler planet than the rest of the simulation seemed to indicate.
Tentative recommend. Very promising, but it's lacking basic features. No options menu to adjust text size or disable features you don't want to see, or at least it isn't obvious and it's very hard to read anything on a 4k display. But, the climate simulation looks great. I wish it had more options. A lot of effort has gone into making this look very pretty, which I appreciate but I'd like to see some more substance to back it up. I'll also mention I wish we had more projection choices than just equirectangular and spherical.

In short, I do recommend it. But I'm not going to strictly say it's for everyone. You have to do know what you want to do with it, and what kind of data it outputs. It is quite well done, and much faster and more fine grained as far as I can tell than CPU sims like exoplasim. It's also FAR easier to setup, and the dev is super responsive to feature requests! I am really enjoying how well this tool is able to take a heightmap and estimate a climatological model. The wind and ocean currents were especially exciting to watch their animations. There is room to grow (e.g., controlling the output image resolution, using the mouse to rotate the globe, exporting the satellite image with or without clouds, a strange simulation bias around the equator), but it has started off its early access very strongly. I am very happy to use this with my heightmaps to play with climatological modeling and planning.
with how early it is in its release phase, this tool is super incredible, i am especially impressed with the depth of its climate simulation for non-earth-like worlds. would love to see a custom biome system maker tool in the future or something like that, but i can tell this is on the track to greatness! excellent work
This is going to do numbers as a worldbuilding tool I'm sure, it's very in depth and gorgeous to boot. I've personally always really been a fan of the specific retro orange on black look so this is like eye candy to me. Settings and tutorial are all clearly explained, only issue I had was not understanding I had to change the water mask when uploading a new heightmap at first. I really like the slow rotator and tidally locked custom biome classifications, both and slow rotators especially so seem very overlooked in planetbuilding and deserve the distinction. Some things I might like to see in the future are zooming on maps, better true binary planet representation, and along with that large tidal ranges, biome colours could match better in legend vs map (or maybe outline that biome while mousing over it in legend?), and better polar coordinate resolution. Overall very solid foundation and look forward to where it will go, a great tool for the serious planetbuilder who isn't great at running niche self-setup climate programs themselves.
Can't believe how incredible this program is already just as a foundation for what's being built on top of it! Dev has already listened to users and implemented improvements. Very, very excited for the full version later down the line, and already having a ton of fun with it as it is.
