it helps me hear and say the words
If you have a semester or two of French language education, this is a great way to bolster your vocabulary. There are some bugs, but if you contact the development team, they respond quickly.
C'est maginific! I'm not too far into the game yet, but it's definitely a fun way to practice French. There are some small glitches here and there, but I haven't encountered anything serious. I can control my character with my Xbox One controller, but I have to use my mouse to click away dialgue boxes. The nature of the game requires using a keyboard frequently for typing anyway, so I seldom use the control, but it's nice to have it as an option. There are beginner, A1, and A2 starting point options.
Have to admit, I was quite impressed by the game. Would love to see sequels to it. Will be playing it the whole way through. It will definitely be an asset to individuals learning languages.
You can't use the speaking function because there is zero zupport to get a microphone working, a known flaw they don't fix and zero response total GARBAGE
I was in a French immersion program as a child and decided to try Wonderlang to brush up on my French a bit since I don't get to speak it very often anymore. The beginning of the game reminded me a lot of first grade. I also liked that I was able to choose the difficulty level after the intro/tutorial. The story features a lot more intrigue than I was expecting and I'm enjoying learning about the mysteries of Wonderlang. I will probably try one of the other language versions at the beginner level soon.
Hi. I have just started the game, I think it's pretty cool but I have 2 problems that make it difficult for me to continue. The volume of the fairies at the beginning of the game, who say a sentence to you, is NOT adjustable with the VOICE ACTING VOLUME SETTING. It's bound to the SOUND EFFECTS VOLUME SETTING. If you select the attack with the hearing task in a battle, I have noticed the same problem. The sound when you have successfully hit a monster in battle is comparatively extremely loud and since this is also set with the SOUND EFFECTS VOLUME SETTING, I have the choice between: I can hear the fairies and the hearing task but get hearing damage when I hit a monster or I keep my hearing but can't play certain parts of the game. Thanks for a fix in an upcoming update :-) Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
Need to play more but so far it's a cute game that's good for learning more beginner French. I like that there are various practice modes depending on if you want to focus more on speaking, listening, writing, etc. I do find that the speaking practice doesn't pick up some words at times but that could just be an issue with my microphone. I do also wish there was a speed option for speech. Hopefully there will be more upgrades like that as the game comes out of early access. The dev was also really responsive when I had messaged about an error, so I hope this game does really well.
