Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 6.43/day in the week to Jul 24 → 6.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
You are a gray wolf in the Northern Range of Yellowstone National Park. Now dispersed from your natal pack, you're on your own – to hunt, explore, find a mate and form your own pack to raise up a new family. Can you and your little pack survive the trials of the wild?

Surviving in the wilderness is far from easy! Hone your hunting skills by practicing on animals such as elk, mule deer, and moose. Once you've grasped their differences and know your limits against your selection of prey, seek out another wolf to become your mate and form a pack together. Explore fields and forests across Yellowstone National Park while you establish a territory and choose a den. Raise your pups by feeding them and playing with them. Protect them from deadly predators who try to kill them.

Over time, your family will outgrow the need for a den and become nomadic, where you teach your pups how to catch their own prey. By next spring they will be yearlings, and test these new skills to help raise the next litter. Eventually, some will venture out on their own and disperse, just as you did all that time ago.

And the cycle repeats, year after year, until you die. The saga of your life begins and ends when you choose, be it one life only or a succession of multiple generations.
Explore realistic recreations of select locations within Yellowstone National Park. Set in the Northern Range (often referred to as "the Serengeti of North America"), where many animals roam meadows, sagebrush steppe grasslands, alpine forests, and high ridges.
But be wary – you are not the only wolf in the area. Rival packs make their home across the landscape and don't take kindly to sight-seeing intruders. Other dangers roam the lands as well – grizzly bears, cougars, and coyotes among them who will vie with you for territory and food.

Raising the bar for realistic and accurate eco-simulation gameplay, many features in the game are directly adapted from wildlife research. Our science advisors include some of the top wolf biologists in the world today, who help us keep WolfQuest accurate to real wolf biology and behavior.
Live the life of a wild wolf! Form your own pack and watch your adorable pups grow into adults and disperse, year after year, until your wolf dies. End your story on your deathbed, or select an heir to continue your legacy.
Dynamic day/night, weather and seasons immerse you into the wilderness.
Wolves communicate with each other using natural actions and vocalizations. Packmates and pups interact and play with each other. Dynamic (family-friendly) courtship interactions help find and choose a suitable mate.
A genetics system models inheritance of each wolf's genes, including eye color, physical and personality attributes, and genetic coat color.
Elk roam the lands in realistic herds, along with moose, mule deer, beavers and other prey.
Animals behave and change to the seasons. Herds migrate through the year. Bucks and bulls spar in the autumn rut and shed their antlers. Cows and does give birth and raise their own young.
Rival wolf packs maintain and protect their own territories from intruders – like you!
Bears, cougars and coyotes will challenge you for your kills and defend their own.
Optional Ironwolf Mode: Live life on the edge, where each decision counts and your death can't be taken back.
Over 100 Achievements and a variety of collectible objects hidden across the map, from shed antlers, skulls, to lost human items.
And a lot more!

Engage in Co-op Multiplayer: Raise your pups together in a group for one game year, maintain territory together against rival packs, or hang out in a sandbox without any real objective.
Live a Wolf's Life Together: Build a pack and raise pups year to year in a special 2-Player Mode, until one of you dies of old age.
Choose who joins your games by selecting if they're public to all, private to friends, or only for select individuals or in-game pack groups.

I rarely ever post reviews here, but WQ deserves all the love in the world. It's insane to see how far this game has come since 2007. I remember watching a ton of videos on it as a kid during my wolf phase so the contrast is pretty insane to me. For one, as an actual educational/edutainment tool, WQ is genuinely amazing on that front. The devs actually do study wolves which has that expectation inherently come with it, but the actual enjoyment part is where a a lot of other games falter. In particular, the addition of the Saga both expands upon wolf behavior, pack dynamics, etc. while refraining from being too repetitive, which the lack was the only thing that kept WQ from lasting a while outside of multiplayer. It's also important on a conservation level, as the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone remains highly controversial to this day, not to mention negative, often false stereotypes being synonymous with them. A way to kindle attachment for players to animals/ecology makes people more willing and open to learning is through making the player take the very role of something part of an ecosystem, which sounds like it would be more common, but WQ is probably one of the few edutainment games that has actually gone that mile. What is on the surface a game, at its core, is a love letter and a means of spreading the love for wolves. Even if it wasn't educational, it is just plain fun. Making stories for packs, exploring locations both in Yellowstone and fictional, raising pups... It may start as a chore at first, but it does become an oddly calming rhythm. The few moments when your pack isn't starving or low on health really lets you sit back and relax. I would also like to shoutout the general WQ community for helping keep the game going for nearly two decades and Eduweb for creating an entertaining, unique simulation experience. I highly doubt there will ever be another game like WolfQuest, both classic and AE.
I absolutely love this game, the attention to detail, the beautiful graphics and gameplay, they really made this game well. Wolfquest is easily one of my all time favorite games since I first picked Wolfquest classic as a kid and loved it. I've played very many generations of my wolves in my past saves and continue to play Wolfquest every so often. It's truly a wonderfully thought out and created game that I have very many special memories of playing in. Wolfquest has even taught me many things about wolves and the wildlife surronding Yellowstone that I love learning about now. Which leaves me very excited for the new Katmai Coast expansion to come out so I can play in a whole entire new world with my pups, and to learn about the equally as exciting new world of coast-life wolves and animals!
I lost five kids in a single month to increasingly brutal fates
Really amazing game that makes you get into the actual head of a wolf (especially in Accurate Difficulty!) The team did such an amazing job in researching all about wolves, and the wildlife that interacts with them! All of the stuff on their YouTube really makes it clear how much they care about accuracy as well, and they're STILL MAKING UPDATES :D This game (mostly) takes place entirely inside of areas in Yellowstone National Park, and the level of detail they did in sculpting the landscapes and the beauty in the environments really shows! I think the only negatives I can think about is that it doesn't work on very low-spec computers that are like 7+ years old Also, I had to verify my files after it crashed the first time, but other than that, very smooth sailing! Highly recommended and is THE BEST animal sim I've ever found, especially when it comes to games that make you actually *feel* like the animal you're playing as! It's also not totally inflexible if you want to do things like challenge runs, or you want to come up with stories or roleplay, which is also really fun!
buy this game, you fool. you're missing out. run don't walk, or whatever. it goes to helping real wolves baby!!!!!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEHAWWWWWWWWWWW it's impressive how much this game has improved and continued to be not only a passion project but a huge success. i played when it came out and i was essentially a fetus. if you haven't played wolfquest and u like animals u MUST
