With My Little Eye

We are looking at yet another low-effort, minimalist 2D "search and find" game with "With My Little Eye". This trend of finding 100 hidden items in a single drawing is being done to death by developers who lack the ambition to create a more genuine gaming experience... it's lazy shovelware. This one is even lazier, 100 things to find was too much, so you only have to find 50 things. Like the developer looked at "Find 100 cats" and thought "Screw that, that's too much work." This is effectively a glorified browser game. It makes you wonder if the developer decided Steam is a perfect competitor to Chrome or Safari. PC gamers don't invest thousands in high-end gaming rigs just to run something that belongs in a browser tab from ten years ago. The sheer volume of these pointless glorified Flash/browser games is starting to feel like pollution. This kind of mass-produced slop makes it harder for legitimate developers to get their projects seen. When the store is spammed with low-effort clones like this, both gamers and real developers lose out. This game features very lacklustre minimalist "art" for graphics instead of anything remotely contemporary. I'm sure the "developer" thought this would come across as "artistic", but it doesn't, it comes across as "really lazy". Yes, contemporary 3D graphics take a lot of time and effort to create. That doesn't mean it's okay not to bother! Developers must try to understand that gaming is a visual medium, and gamers spend a lot of money on high end gaming rigs for a reason. And that reason is not so they can look at lazy, phoned-in half efforts like this. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. A peak of [b]8 concurrent users[/b] (according to SteamDB) for a "free" game is a disastrous public reception. Out of 130 million potential players here on Steam, almost nobody was interested. Even though this is "free". That level of rejection speaks a lot for the quality of the product. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
