Windsurfing MMX

KEYBOARD ONLY, Non bindable controls for an action sports game?!? Devs, you're killing your own game here. You've butchered accessibility with everything you got going on besides the physics of surfing (which are actually good), it's just frustrating to get past a lot of needlessly antiquated design to get surfing. The game is actually pretty cool... I like it, but i'm gonna have to say skip it unless you have a steam controller or software that lets you rebind keyboard onto a controller - that alone is gonna be a huge turn-off to most people. Compounding that major issue, the UI/UX is a dumpster fire that was either made by a disgruntled engineer or a mad scientist. nothing makes sense for modern game practice. WHY for example is there a dedicated language change button? Who in their right mind needs to change language so often?? That should be menu stuff only. Your launcher is garbage and I almost immediately uninstalled it because it defaulted to a tiny aspect ratio and it's not super obvious that you have to click on the TEXT of your screen size in the launcher in order for the drop-down menus to appear. On-foot, while neat in theory is SO needlessly clunky... HOLY CRAP! you can ONLY walk forward and then stop to rotate left and right in place - no directional walking. Fix this ASAP! Add controller support and left thumbstick directional control for on-foot and surf steering like every other game on the planet. The help section and manual section are obscure and include terms non windsurfers wouldn't know about. The description of tricks is needlessly arcane. Wouldn't need to be if you had controller support! The help section tells about look left and right keys, but doesn't mention that it only works in first person mode... otherwise it's only a look behind button. It's a shame because again, I actually really like the vibe.

I love windsurfing in reality, so I like this game. It's old, but no any other windsurfing game. It has a lot of potential to update, obviously in graphics, there could be more moves, and it would be awesome in VR (especially in winter)

This is the only virtual windsurfing game I have seen since the Wii Go Vacation mini game. I love it so far. I have been windsurfing for over forty years and this captures the essence of shortboard windsurfing better than I had expected. Of course, there is nothing like being on the water and there is a lot of room for improvements. I found the real and apparent wind indicator a really decent alternative to feeling the wind. The keyboard inputs are simple and only took me about five minutes to get the hang of gybing and jumping. I landed a back loop then a forward loop and now I'm hooked... Love it! Good start and thanks for making this! I hope it gets support from the windsurfing community.

Great to see this game on Steam and also in the sale. I already owned it but I have just bought a copy on Steam also. I have used the steam controller option to assign the key strokes to controls on my Xbox controller. Also tried it on the Quest 2 in cinema mode. Not quite VR but really good. This is a great game for its age and especially for a lapsed windsurfer like me. I may even have a go at modelling one of my favourite windsurfing spots. It would be nice to see further development of the game if the support is out there.

For what it is and what it costs I think it's a great little game. I like how real world gear is modelled in game. It's a pity it's not economically viable to invest more time in a windsurfing game. The possibilities are huge. Thanks for supporting the sport.

I'm enjoying this game. The physics are great, enough so that it has helped me on the water. It is a bit dated and could use a little attention, maybe a nice makeover for 2025.
