18th Century port trading, with threats from pirates. This is a testing micro-management money making strategy game. For those, like me, who need to be able to pause a game ( RL can be a pain ! ) this immersive brain teaser is ideal.
This is my favourite game bc pirates and money

Nice Community feel and obvious room for expansion. Maybe also, and online component should be Awesome !
Verdict
At its heart, Winds of Trade is just an abandoned trading sim, but with its, rough edges, and frustrating mechanics, it feels barely worth it's $12 price.
Pros
Trade Automation - You can set up automatic trade routes, which is convenient once you get going. Stock Market - You’re able to buy stock in a company and then profit from trading their goods, which adds some strategic depth.
Cons
Hotkeys - The game only has a single hotkey; nearly every function requires clicking through menus. Unbalanced Production & Consumption - Because the world is randomly generated, most ports don’t produce or consume enough resources to even fill your ship holds. Nation Mechanics - After more than 24 hours of play, I still can’t tell what prosperity or recession actually do. Wars between nations don’t change the map and the only effect for the player is access to low-paying wartime missions. Border Gore Islands - Random generation often creates awkwardly divided islands. In about ten playthroughs, I only saw one without messy three-way splits. Few Sliders - Want to sell more than 500 shares of stock? Get ready to click through confirmation prompts for each batch of 100.
Good trading sim for the price. I wish the dev continued to develop it but he has moved on. There is not many games like this out there, so I welcome any decent newcomers. I was a fan of Port Royale 3 and this game scratches that itch.
Adddicted...really good. next step is to find a similar game that is multiplayer.
some world preset seeds would be a cool addition if the community happens to stumble accross some good seeds. Otherwise maybe just improve the cities a little bit so they aren't 100% reliant on the trade you bring.
