About
Windrose is a survival adventure set in an alternative Age of Piracy. It features the classic “build, craft, survive” formula along with intense combat and engaging exploration on land and sea.
Progress through vast procedurally generated biomes filled with hidden mysteries, hand-crafted dungeons and quests. Gather your crew and captain your ship through brutal naval combat with boarding actions and seamless transitions between ship and shore.
Defeat challenging bosses on your swashbuckling adventure driven by real-world characters and supernatural forces alike.
Every legend begins with a reckless crossing.
You are a captain who dares to challenge Blackbeard. What begins as a grounded story of survival and revenge draws you into a growing conflict between empires, pirate clans, and mysterious dark powers looming on the horizon. Windrose is steeped in the allure of the Age of Piracy.
Answer the call of the seas and move seamlessly between ship and shore. Naval combat is shaped by your decisions, whether you’re trading cannon fire at range or closing in for fierce boarding actions. Equip and customize your ship to suit your playstyle, from nimble ketch to versatile brig and monstrous frigate. And when the cannons go silent, claim your spoils and share a sea shanty with your crew as you sail onward.
Establish a foothold in vibrant, diverse biomes, gather resources, and build to your own taste, from simple shelters to elaborate mansions and fully developed forts. Recruit NPCs and grow your settlement to speed up harvesting and production.
This world belongs to the brave and the curious, so venture into the uncharted lands. Over 100 hand-crafted dungeons and points of interest contain endless secrets and treasures, though such rewards rarely come without risk. Trade with different factions to gain the edge you’ll need.
Hack, slash, batter, and shoot your way forward! Master a wide arsenal of melee weapons and firearms. Parry and dodge enemy attacks, chain different strikes, and keep an eye out for new gear, including sabers, rapiers, halberds, greatswords, pistols, muskets, and more.
Shape your combat style through talents and flexible loadouts with unique armor sets. Use food and potions to gain powerful buffs. Test your skills against a wide range of enemies and challenging bosses, defeat them, and claim their treasures.
Windrose is fully playable solo offline or in co-op with friends, supporting up to 8 players, with both self-hosted and dedicated servers available. Procedural generation will make each journey stand out. Please note: due to performance, especially in the late game, we recommend to play in the party up to 4 players for the optimal experience.

super
great game

Macht total viel Laune, mega Community. Nur zu empfehlen. Wer Abwechselung zwischen Land-, Seekampf und Basenbau haben will. Welcome
The only complaints I have seen on this game are people complaining about how hard the combat is but you can very easily just put the difficulty down or get more used to the game. The building is very fun, you get alot of freedom to build wherever you want, however I don't like how you can't place decorations outside the bonfire range. The exploration is great, I have no complaints about that. It's hard to believe that this is an early access game by a small creator, very good.
The Pirate Game I’ve Been Waiting For! This is exactly the game I have been dreaming of ever since the days of Sid Meier’s Pirates! and Sea Dogs. In recent years, the gaming market has sorely lacked a title that successfully bridges the gap between land and sea gameplay or was lacking RPG or a meaningfull progression system. Progression That Actually Matters (Why it beats Sea of Thieves) While Sea of Thieves is a great game, it always lacked long-term motivation for me because the progression is purely cosmetic. There is no real incentive to grind when you can't unlock better gear. Windrose gets this absolutely right: Meaningful Grind: The progression loop is highly motivating. Unlocking a new ship or a specialized set of cannons doesn't just look different—it completely changes how you play. Diverse Playstyles: For instance, choosing between fast, agile chain-shot cannons to disable enemy rigging from a distance, or heavy, slow-loading carronades for devastating close-quarters boarding action, makes every upgrade feel impactful and rewarding. My Wishlist for Future Updates The game is already fantastic, but if the developers want to turn this into an absolute masterpiece, here is what I would love to see added: 1. Wind Dynamics & Sailing Physics The Idea: Introduce real wind influence on sailing. This would add incredible tactical depth to naval battles. Imagine having to carefully angle your sails (tacking) or outmaneuver an opponent by gaining the "weather gauge" (positioning yourself upwind) to gain a speed advantage during a chase. 2. Dynamic Weather & Storms at Sea The Idea: Roaring storms, towering rogue waves, and lightning. Navigating a storm shouldn't just be a visual effect, but a battle for survival. Fighting another ship while managing high waves that block your cannon angles and wind that threatens to tear your sails apart would be breathtaking. 3. More Historical Ships & Deep Customization The Idea: Expand the fleet with iconic 16th and 17th-century vessels—from nimble Sloops and Brigs to massive, multi-decked Ships of the Line. 4. Immersive Storytelling (The Dream Feature) The Idea: Fully voiced dialogues and cinematic cutscenes. I know this is a massive request that requires a lot of resources, but having actual cutscenes and voiced characters would elevate the atmosphere and lore to a whole new level, making the world feel truly alive. Conclusion Even in its current state, Windrose is an incredible achievement. If the developers continue to build on this solid foundation, it will easily become the ultimate pirate simulator. A huge thank you to the developers—keep up the amazing work!
Le jeu est juste incroyable vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermer, si vous vous faites molester n'hésiter pas descendre la difficulté le jeu vaut le détour et ce n'est que le début
