I wish there was a neutral review button but there isn't. This game is cheap and that is a huge plus. Even without a sale you could easily get your money's worth out of the game. Idk what the people complaining about the progression are on about, the game gives you the necessary tools to make good progress, you just have to spend gems in a smart way in the early game. You do hit these big walls but it's nothing new for an idle game. All in all, 6/10 game, worth 3$ if you like idlers.
Warning: In-Game Cash Shop This game is infested with a toxic mobile app style cash shop. You will be prompted to and expected to give money/credit card details to the developers through this cash shop to buy in-game goods so you can play the game. Note: The cash shop may or may not be disabled at the time of this review.
Wildlife Planet: The Incremental isn't really a proper game, it's just a lazy 2D browser/Flash-tier "number incrementer" game where the object of the game is to increase the in-game currency by clicking, and sometimes buying things that increase the rate at which your currency/score goes up. It's an incredibly shallow game loop, to the point you might as well just run a program that does "i=i+1; print i" and watch the numbers go up automatically, and just watch it. You'd get the exact same outcome. If this sounds completely mindless, you're not wrong. It's obvious this was just intended to be a mobile scam... in-game currencies are all over the place, and it's clear you are/were expected to pay real cash money to the mobile devs behind this garbage so you can keep playing. That's disgusting, toxic monetisation, and even with the cash shop disabled, the DNA for the game is based entirely on those "gems" and "crystals" and whatever else they expect you to pay for. As a clicker/incrementer, money aside, this is one of the worst clicker/idlers on Steam, beaten only by the utter garbage NFT scams like "banana". From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game features mostly static, barely animated 2D images, the kind of thing you expect to see in browser/flash games. While the artwork itself, while mediocre, might be considered passable, the visual presentation here is negligible, it might as well be a slideshow or a Youtube video. Pac-Man, Space Invaders and Asteroids had more advanced animation and visuals going on than this game does. The controls can't be customised because the game has such a dumbed down, simplified interface that it's just iPhone screen tapping stuff. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here. PC gamers will be insulted by the interface for this game as the mobile app devs demand you tap/swipe on your screen to interface with the game. While this is probably just due to sheer laziness from the mobile devs behind this game, it's offensive disrespect to PC gamers and a sign of an extremely shoddy mobile port. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but I wasn't able to find it on the app stores. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes Wildlife Planet: The Incremental might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 130,000+ games on Steam? Wildlife Planet: The Incremental is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. Because this is the kind of game you can just play for free on mobile phones, it's impossible to recommend anyone should pay money for the same experience on Steam. This is also competing with over 14,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product. It's important to note that, despite this being such a low quality product, there's a number of positive reviews that all appeared immediately after the game launched, from suspiciously inactive Steam accounts that have reviewed almost no other games apart from this. On a purely unrelated note, recent US FTC rulings mean that review manipulation and fake reviews are now federal crimes. Interesting, isn't it? Regardless... take the review score of this game with a grain of salt.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
This was a "meh" -experience. Graphics are nice, crisp, colorful and clean, but the game doesn't get interesting enough. Descriptions are short and uninteresting, progressing is rather boring and there aren't even any achievements to get... I wouldn't buy it if I could decide again.
Long time ago: Excellent incrémental. Now: There is a loading bug, cannot go farther and play...
