Pros - Good world building and story elements. - An array of quirky charming characters with fun dialog. - I appreciate they've tried to add some additional quest types to add more variation to the game-play. I think a-lot more is required though. - Controls are OK. - UI is pretty good. - The card game mechanics are interesting but I think it needs a lot more cards Cons - Can be quite glitchy, things like earlier conversations replaying, conversations replaying with no character present on screen. I've also had several times where the in-game notepad for quest tracking and map won't appear (just the audio plays) - The graphics in the non-card section are fairly poor quality by today's standards IMHO and there is a weird tearing effect every so often, maybe some artifact from aliasing? It seems to be less visible with lower graphical presets. There is no ability to fine control the graphics other than presets. - The card game suffers the issues of pretty much every other card game in that it just eventually gets very repetitive. There is a single common deck and so there is no really any variation in tactics. You will mostly likely do the same thing every time. Each match only differs (and is won or lost) based on how the cards are drawn from the pack. Or in the early game you will just loose simply because you don't have a complete pack yet and the opponent has better cards. - While the controls were OK there is no mouse sensitivity options unfortunately. The y-axis movement feels very limited and also even though there is a patch indicating that the mouse pointer is hidden while moving around the game world, the pointer was still flickering on and off for me. Overall its still enjoyable enough for what it is so I'm still giving it a thumbs up despite my issues. Maybe others will be able to get more out of it then me and maybe I will pick it up again if there are future patches for stability and content.
I am already addicted to Wild Country! This is a super cute, cozy and fun deck builder. I highly recommend!
Relaxing game that is easy to pick up and learn but still has its challenges. The devs are highly involved in making this game the best.
Personally as someone who is new to card games and have no idea what to do, I genuinely think this game is pretty good, like: 1) The Battle Introduction was done very well, and I was able to understand how to battle really quickly, and got a hang of it. 2) The AI battle itself is rather challenging (could just be me being dumb though). its unlike other card game where they treat you like an idiot and you just win without thinking. So in terms of playability, It can be a game that last quite a while. Although I think there are a few thing that could have been done better: 1) I was approached as a Chinese Speaking Content Creator so I was genuinely expecting it to have Chinese language in the settings. 2) There was little to no guide as to where things are, and I had to take like quite a while to figure things out E.g: - I couldn't find where to open my card packs that came from the rewards upon completing quests. - I couldn't find where to create my own deck. - When I finally found and finish creating my own deck, I couldn't navigate back to the main world. 3) When Opening the card packs, there was no button to open the next pack. which can be quite a problem. Cause if you have more than 1 card packs to open, you have to navigate to the card pack UI each time. I.E: 3 card pack to open means you have to navigate to the card pack UI 3 time. (and honestly its quite a hassle to even find the card pack UI.

Super cute and cozy deck builder, loads to get stuck into!

Please consider following my Curation page. I cover a wide range of genres both paid and unpaid, providing unbiased opinions as well as regular giveaway events.

It's a bit too slow
The game's concept is pretty fun, sort of like a less interesting version of Settlers of Catan (board game), where instead of using resources to build your economy and trying to get the most amount of cities and resources, you just take turns very slowly building and destroying each other's tiles until you have enough money to win the game. The main issue is the speed; it's extremely slow, even against AI; everything takes a long time to cycle through for the other person's turn; it's not particularly interesting to watch your buildings flip their token around (takes 5 seconds), the same with others or your duration before they explode and stop providing economy. Aside from that, it's a decent game, but I doubt I'll return unless they provide a means to avoid all of the long animations and cutscenes that detract from the strategy. It's similar to watching someone play monopoly, but instead of placing their piece on GO! they slowly move it tile by tile without skipping any of them even though there is no need. It just takes up a lot of time that we could use to play more games.
Conclusion
There is a "Unstuck" button in the park, so you know you'll be going out of the map and having issues here and there, nothing really game-breaking, but aside from the slow pace, it's not too horrible.
The game is cute and the idea is great! There is one con though, everything is soooo sloooow! the animations, the turns, feels like everything takes like 5 seconds, and in this kind of game you usually expect things to be fast. I did get the game for free and like I said I love the concept and the music is awesome, but this is honestly something that made me stop playing. I hope we get the option to speed up the animations in future patches!
