Whotnot is a VERY simple game based on a slightly modified card game called WHOT!. Essentially, you try match your opponent's symbols or numbers and try not have cards in your hand. If you were wondering why the play time is so low, the game is THAT simple. The description mentions it's similar to a 2d fighting game, but I'm absolutely not getting any fighting game vibes, except the loosely connected 'combo' system. The slightly modified special cards can be comboed together simply by the virtue of being lucky enough to have them in hand. There is very little strategy involved and a lot of luck, which isn't surprising given its roots as quick-to-play card game originally aimed for children. The tutorial is not the best, it's initially easy to forget what special cards do due to the lack of tooltips. Even matches against AI are timed with only 10 secs to play a card (which, to be fair, is the rule for the WHOT! card game but still weird to have in an AI game). Because of the game's lack of strategic depth and timed AI, it's simply not a great experience for solo play. Timed AI battles and simplistic gameplay doesn't make a good solo experience. Not recommended.
