love chess only annoying thing is when the knights stick to the king so you can take it or check it :/ anyway, well made game. love it. im absolutely horrible at this though cant beat the second level yet im actually going insane

Review in english above and portuguese below btw: (review em ingles encima, brasileiro em baixo) I saw the trailer and thought it looked kinda cool, mixing two genres I like, rage game and chess. Downloaded it, played for about 20 minutes, and realized it just wasn’t for me. The difficulty feels insanely unbalanced, it’s either way too easy or stupidly hard (and that’s saying something, because I actually enjoy suffering, I play Clash Royale). You basically need to be a freaking chess grandmaster and at the same time have platinum-level skills in Jump King, Celeste, and Super Meat Boy to play this thing. The levels are huge, and from start to finish everything can be completely reset because of a single tiny mistake. That would be fine for a rage game, if it wasn’t for the game’s bad design. In most rage games, if you mess up, you regress. Maybe the whole level, maybe just part of it. You take the L and move on. Here, not really. Since the obstacles are created while you’re playing chess against a bot, the piece you used to climb the board on move 1 might move later on move X. If you fall below that point, you can’t climb back up, you get softlocked, and you’re forced to restart the entire level. The idea sounded awesome, but unfortunately the game is extremely unbalanced. 4/10 //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Vi pelo trailer achei que seria pás e tals, por misturar 2 generos de jogos que gosto, rage game com xadrez, baixei, joguei 20 minutinhos e vi que não curti muito, achei desbalenceado demais as dificuldades, ou é muito facil, ou muito dificil (Até demais para o meu gosto, e olha que gosto de sofrer, eu jogo clash royale). Porém quando joguei, meu deus do ceu, tu tem que ser literalmente um fodendo grande-mestre de xadrez e platinador de jump king, celeste e super meat boy ao mesmo tempo pra joga essa merda. As fases gigantes do começo até o fim podem ser completamente reiniciadas por um único e mísero erro, mas isso tudo bem pra um rage game, se não fosse por culpa do mal design do jogo, nos outros rage games, em maioria, tu regrediu? Nem que seja a fase inteira ou só um pouco tu engole o chore, faz o L, e tenta volta pra onde tava antes. Mas nessa maravilha não, por conta dos obstáculos serem formados enquanto tu joga xadrez contra um bot, e muitas vezes a peça X que tu usou pra escalar o tabuleiro no lance 1, vai se mover no lance Y e se tu cair para abaixo daquele tabuleiro tu não consegue subir de volta e fica softlocked, tendo que reiniciar a fase inteira. Parecia ser muito massa, mas infelizmente é muito desbalanceado. 4/10

I love this game so much.

The game is really 95% chess puzzles and 5% platforming. You can redo the same puzzle as many times as you want, so the game just becomes beating puzzles in the end.
