Consider this game to be a simple Roguelite for the Tower Defence genre. To win, you must lose. Again, and again, and again. Tower placement and selection does not carry as much weight as simply grinding losses again and again to unlock your much needed towers, power-ups, and boosts. Once you have unlocked everything, only then you can start to think about any sort of strategy, which is unfortunately lacking. There is no pathing or mazing, and with only three (offensive) towers to think about, you will quickly devise a solution for each round. There are any number of far more advanced tower defence games available online for free. For the price of entry, I would consider whether or not you mind being defeated over and over again. If you are the sort of player who restarts a level if they take a single hit, this is not for you.
Game is short but pretty balanced. You have to play multiple times to aquire crowns to buy new skills and abilities. This is a turret defense game, so the goal is to master the map on every difficulty and get all the achievements. $5.00 for a game than give me 10 hours of entertainment is fine with me. Game could have more skills and maps but I'm not about to chase off a TD developer that shows promise. The genre already has so few that know how to make a non ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.
I'll start off by saying that I like the concept and enjoyed my experience with this. But 5$ is too much, its way too minimalistic. Beat in a little over an ~hour due to poor balance (do not upgrade Drillers if you want a challenge). Theres only 2 damaging towers, 1 debuffing tower, 2 traps, few upgrades upgrades, 3 or 4 enemy types and just 14 waves. To make it worse, the game is designed to inflate playtime to unlock the limited number of passive upgrades and abilities you do get. Its worth a pickup on sale and would love to see the dev expand more upon this but as it is now, you're paying for the experience and not the gameplay. I'll still recommend it due to having fun with the concept. Steam playtime is bugged, played this around 80 minutes offline. I've beaten easy and medium and so I'd say I have played enough to review accurately but its possible that hard mode switches things up. Currently I'd value the game at roughly 2$ with most of that going to aesthetic, music and concept..
Good 3 hours spend to try all out, definetly worth the money if you look for some little fun. Hopefully some lategame fun will be added or another map/tower
