The game starts and you start playing, there is a number counting down the number of turns before the screen goes through a RNG shuffle to one of the other grids that you are also stacking in. The four grids run together, and one stacks downward, one upward, one to the left and the final one to the right. The pieces are not traditional Tetris pieces, because there are pieces ranging from 1 to 6 blocks. This does not really build on Tetris and the game is not more fun. The constant shifts are jarring. And the oddly shaped pieces are just difficult to deal with. Not to mention you forget about the other grids for a while and come back to it. It's too weird for my tastes. Before anyone asks, I really enjoy Tetris and I used to play it for hours on end. I just cannot get into this game. I also cannot get behind the asking price of 9.99 USD. It's essentially just playing 4 games of Tetris at once, not much else to it. I like Tetris though so I guess I like Whirlygig.
