Where They Cremate The Roadkill is like a modern art museum with a floor covered in a think layer of tar. The clunky gameplay is an absolute chore to wade through, but it's a chore with rewards, that is of course, if you like the bitter-nutty taste of surreal art and philosophical quips. Artistically this game is fantastic. I adore the mind shattering dialog, the distinct visual styles of each area, and the enchanting atmosphere the soundtrack creates. The story, while somewhat incoherent, is an interesting look at the struggles of the self vs the world. It's a beautiful game with some intense things to say about life. Unfortunately this game is held back by one of it's biggest components, the gameplay. Enemies are damage sponges with poorly telegraphed, and sometimes unfair attacks. Movement feels unnatural, slow, and stiff. And sometimes getting from one area to the next can be needlessly cryptic. While I personally love this game for what it does right, it has some very overbearing flaws, and very acquired tastes, that prevent me from recommending it to everyone. I still highly recommend it to the niche group of people that might enjoy it, but you really need to consider both, how much you like surrealism, and how much bad game design you're willing to put up with, to know if you're a part of that niche.

Where They Cremate The Roadkill Onde eles cremam o atropelamento e sem dúvidas um jogo que me despertou uma curiosidade.
What
This is a very, very surreal game. It’s very unique and it’s hard to really describe the vibe it gives off, but take Courage the Cowardly Dog and throw in some Salad Fingers and you’re pretty close. But either way, I think the tone and visual style are really great and honestly are what make this game for me. The main criticism I can give is that the controls are a tad clunky and non-intuitive, but at least for me it never really seemed that bad. I really don’t think this is a game for everyone, but I’d say it’s worth a look if you’re seeing the sample screenshots and think “huh, I can dig that.” It’s an acquired taste perhaps, but it worked for me. (Also I don't know why my playtime says I've only played like half an hour, I must have been playing offline??)
I've only struggled through around four hours so far- I purchased it after being a big fan of the first two games, especially the most recent installment, Gingiva. It's a game in the same surreal, acid trip style as Middens and Gingiva. Maybe it's my old PC, but it runs surprisingly poorly for a game on this engine, partially because every action comes with large screen covering effects. I feel like he tried to do something new with the combat system and replace the turn-based combat that the first two games used. This is fine, except that the engine runs very well with turn-based combat and does not facilitate a beat-em-up style approach. It doesn't work very well in RPG Maker. I don't mind the moon logic of how to progress-that's part of the charm, even if I have to view a walkthrough once or twice to find NPCs who have wandered behind some set dressing. I'll struggle through a bit more, but it feels like a better funded step down. Maybe I'm not an esoteric enough thinker, but it feels like the word salad which is so iconic of Takamo is less focused, so it feels like he's just filling out text boxes to make the world feel less empty. It feels like I'm reading my middle school essays, trying to satiate a word count when I've got nothing else to say. I'm not even having a good time. I'd suggest you save your money. Stop at Gingiva, and you'll end on a high note.
♥♥♥♥ YEAH
10/10 would WTF again
