Exactly as I remember it! I used to obsess over this game when I was little, and would get stuck on the final level a lot. I forgot I had beaten it, so I decided to purchase it in order to finally conquest this game. Alas, I had already beaten it before and simply did not remember. It has a glitch where the game does not save on steam, but that's okay. I asked my boyfriend to catch me up on where I had left off, which added to the fun. I do not recommend if you don't have the patience to replay to get to where you left off (like me) or if you don't have a boyfriend to catch you up (like my wonderful Carlos). The game is so fun, I feel like Nancy Drew with a little history all over the place. I have not felt this excited about a game in a while. Thanks to Encore for publishing this game on Steam! I highly recommend! :)
I played this game as a kid and have wanted to revisit it for years. Returning to it brought back so many great memories, and the experience was genuinely wonderful. While the graphics are understandably dated given the game's age, that hardly detracts from its charm. The nostalgia alone made it more than worth revisiting. It's a reminder of a simpler time in gaming, when fun and immersion mattered most. If you have fond memories of this game from your childhood, I highly recommend giving it another go. It’s a trip down memory lane that doesn’t disappoint.
Love some Carmen Sandiego I just wish there was more content and more to the series.
I love finding games from my childhood on steam!
Very classical and a great time eater!
Deleted all my progress even though I pressed the button on the vest to save,
This is my most childhood game ever. I played it over and over again as a kid and even occasionally watch playthroughs of it on youtube when I need something in the background. Now, taking off the nostalgia-colored glasses- This is obviously a kids game, so if you're an adult playing it without having played it when you were 7, it might be a more dull or boring experience if you know everything about the countries they're trying to teach you about. It is also an educational game, as I just alluded to, and a lot of the puzzles have to do with figuring out where to go next- ie, where did an artifact come from that we just found, what language is this word in, etc. Honestly it's not bad for even adults to play (unless you're the geniuses i previously mentioned). I think the game is also occasionally funny and the story itself is not bad for this genre. My girlfriend is playing it rn and I'm supervising it, and she's kind of locked in, so why not give it a try and have some fun with Carmen Sandiego ????
This game is perfect for kids who love world history, social studies, and geography.
I would give anything fro them to start making more of these! I crave nothing more that a hot woman in a red coat forcing me to learn geography just to get a glimpse of her.
i have played this game over and over again. the game never changes, but i have such a love of this game that it never gets old to play. I have loved the Carmen Sandiego games since I was a child, and have been enamored with them. Knowing that Treasure of Knowledge was on steam, it was a game i HAD to buy. The game teaches you a lot about following the clues, and teaches a lot about world geography and world history, similar to all the other Carmen games. But I loved this game the most because of the style of the game. The Learning Company did an amazing job with this game and i just wish there was a sequel to this specific game. 10/10 would highly recommend
