This review was originally posted here. 7/10 Aww, this one was cute. When Our Journey Ends is about one fateful train ride that the main character, Mariko, takes that sets her on a fantastical adventure. Mariko lives in rural Japan, and has to take a train in to school. In fact, she’s the only person who takes local regional train - it runs only for her. When she graduates at the end of spring, the train will be closed down for good. She falls alseep on the way home from school, and she wakes up at an unfamiliar train station. I really like this premise. There really are regional rail systems like that in Japan, that only run for a dwindling number of students who need to commute to another town for school. It’s a very nostalgic feeling - like the train sequence in Spirited Away, which was by far my favorite part of the film. This game has a very melancholic but still sweet tone to it - the spirits Mariko meets on her journey are sweet and so is she. It’s a very gentle tale that perfectly suited my near-winter mood. It’s a little short (okay… very short) and while the main story is simple, it’s supplemented by six short vignettes that are really nice. The art is nice and distinct, but my one quibble with the game (other than its length) is that the text is SUPER SMALL. Very small! The font size could have easily been knocked up a handful of point sizes, and it would’ve made it just easier to read. The price is also a little much for the length, but it’s a tiny studio and I think they deserve that money. This is definitely one to pick up, sale or no.
。。 之后,我用俄语的语言试玩了一会儿,之后尝试存档,仍然出现错误: file "renpy/common/00gamemenu.rpy", in line 173, in script $ui.interact() file "renpy/common/00gamemenu.rpy", in line 173, in <module> $ui.interact() exception: unknown text tag u'month_short' 另外,在俄语语言下,人物对话的字幕以及语音仍都是英语。 。。

(This game was a gift from a friend) WOJE is a family-friendly VN very reminiscent of the Miyazaki film "Spirited Away". It's character and background art are unique and absolutely beautiful, and some of the backdrops being animated is a wonderful addition. The music is also nice, and the end credits even has (what I'm assuming is) a lovely original song. All that said though, the writing itself is rather poor. It's very wordy and expositional, there's awkward grammar, and in some places it's missing words. The story is good, but it's not a super pleasant read (in English). It also has six short "after stories" that, while cute, felt unneeded and somewhat tedious. There's also the issue that the current version has bugged achievements, so you have to follow a guide on how to circuitously download an older version of the game just so that the achievements are awarded the way they're supposed to be. If you can tolerate the bad, I do actually recommend it. The story is cute, and it's a mostly enjoyable experience. Just make sure to buy it on sale or bundled because it's only about 2 hours long.
Quite a short, linear visual novel game about a girl who rides a train all by herself to school and something magical happens to her. Lovely little game that is definitely worth the purchase.
That game has something associated with real life. It tells a fairytale story of a lonely railway station and its only passenger, a girl who would graduate from high school and move to big cities. After her family leave the village, the station might be closed forever, but life is always unpredictable and full of surprises. At an unexpected stop the girl decides to take an adventure and explore the mysterious train. https://dd.hokkaido-np.co.jp/news/area/doto/1-0159343.html 【旧白滝駅】女子高生1人だけが使っていた秘境駅、卒業と同時に廃止へ 唯一の利用者である女子高生が卒業するのに合わせて、駅の使命を終えることになった。 P.S. The achievement system is totally broken.
