I’ve played What The Car on Apple Arcade before, back then I had to abandon it. The game became far more annoyingly challenging due to the strict times to get golden crowns and the controls being terrible for some levels. Things have significantly changed based on my experience with the Steam version for the past 2 months. Times are far more reasonable. I’m not sure if some of the controls have been improved with updates, but some do feel better after giving them a bit of time to understand how they work. On a whole, the game feels fairer and the controls are definitely improved (even though I can’t be specific why that is). The game is genuinely fun in a childlike way, similar to the feelings What The Golf brought. Although Car is more focused with its levels, there are still plenty of original and unexpected ones. I love how we can explore multiple hub areas and get rewarded for it with little secrets. The most impressive aspect has got to be how user created levels are incorporated in the main game and how new content is created with them. With new content, every few weeks there are new themed hub areas with user created levels, NPC to talk to and sometimes new secrets to find. It makes it feel like there will always be new content. It’s even tracked in the collectible book in terms of 100% achieved etc. You know, I would have loved continuing with the game if I didn’t have an endless amount of games to play. In terms of cons, user created levels can also be a problem. Some of the levels are not balanced, have bad controls or terrible levels. Don’t get me wrong, most of them are very good but some bad apples do slip through. You get incentivised to do them to get the optional golden crowns (you don’t need to for the achievements). I wish I could do other user created levels that could also count for the golden crowns. Lastly, there are a couple of main levels that can also go too far with the times or bad controls but those are super rare cases. What The Car continues that unique flavour brought by What The Golf. If you like Golf, you ought to get it. If you like cute and original games, then you need to get it too. If you like jokes, childlike fun and just having a smile on your face, then this game does it well too. It’s also great to keep playing if you don’t want it to stop and you enjoy user created levels, the community is very strong for this game. I’m amazed by some of the levels they created. I paid roughly around €5 for the steam version and think it’s well worth it. The normal price of around €17 is still worth it, especially with the endless user created content. It took me around 21 hours to complete the game and get all the achievements. I’m positive you can get the achievements more quickly if you only do the main levels created by the devs.
i like to drive :) this helped me get my drivers permit! yayy!!! now i know what to do when i come acorss lots of bears n turtle <3
Game's alright, but absolutely infuriating at times. The thing that's supposed to make the game interesting is how your car changes gimmick from level to level. Some of them are pretty funny and, as they should be, fun to control, but there's a lot of repetition. There are also a number of gimmicks that are absolute cancer to control and, honestly, they ruined the game for me. Like they're so annoying, it spoils the rest of the game. Triband's previous game, What The Golf, is a far better experience IMO. Go play that rather than this.
забавно
it's silly and there's quite a lot of weird cars. worst one so far is giraffe wheels, god those are frustrating. also this game is giant, I'm on chapter 5 I think and it seems like there's at least 2 more. whole game is like time trial based, but also it's a racing game by default, so what do you expect. it's a car game with no brake button, which does make it kinda hard at times, but usually there's some way to cut a corner, especially to get the gold times.
