About
Appreciate your fleeting time on Earth by wasting it at a virtual mall with a surly bear. Talk to people. Play mini-games that never end. Contemplate the death of the American shopping mall. Spend a moment here, then go do something else.
WEJbA is a game about walking around a 3D mall filled with minigames and other points of interest. The game passes in real time, and a helpful in-game clock shows you how much time you have left. As I update the game, your available time will increase, as will the amount of stuff to see and do.
It's also a true mixed-media game; all the plushies you see in game are handmade by me, they're in my office right now! I take pictures from multiple angles and then extract the sprites from there. I also make all the 3D models, and either draw the textures myself or photobash them from open source imagery. I hope you enjoy, cause I had fun making it!!

This is Di, she's the main character of WEJbA. She's real! I could pick her up and toss her like a ball at any moment!!!
WEJbA will continue to grow as Di spends more time at the mall. (See content and pricing below.) The game currently contains:
2 minigames
At least 3 characters to meet
1 open shop
3 unloackable skins

You can find this worm in the game, along with other, non-worm things.
In what industry experts are sure to call "a stupid idea," I'm bringing live service gaming principles to the humble solo-dev indie game. Right now the game is 1 hour long and costs $1 USD. With every major update to WEJbA, I will add 1 hour of gameplay and raise the price by $1. That means the sooner you get it, the cheaper it'll be! Listen, Minecraft did it and no one yelled at them about it, so why not me?!
The game will stop updating once I get to 24 hours, so it will never cost more than $24. That's my ultimate goal, but who knows if I get that far, I make no promises! Enjoy what you get!!!

Artistically, this was certainly one of the more interesting games I've played lately. Unfortunately, despite the game wanting you to stay for an hour, I could only find 20 minutes worth of things to do. It's only $1 though. Hope to see more from this dev in the future.
A simple game about a bored bear in a semi-deserted mall which currently doesn't have much to do in it, but I like the atmosphere, the dialogues and I love the plushies (if you'll ever make a purchasable Di I'll get one immediately lol, she looks great).
This game has a comfortable atmosphere, with photo-scanned plush animals and twangy, 'late day themed' Animal Crossing music. It's also a moody grungy game of leisure -- or the search for leisure -- in the corpse of a mall. There are only four hallways, one open shop, one minigame, and active sphere physics on garbage, which you can kick into the trash bins or fountain for positive or negative karma. I have no idea if the karma does anything at all. Like Animal Crossing, there's an assumed leisure to it. You're not fighting enemies or maximizing potential on anyone or anything. There's only a few people to talk to. The conversations and protagonist are wandering. There is no plot. Only an hour to burn. My issue: 45 minutes of that hour was me pacing the halls for something to happen. Instead of wandering into quaint musings or punky teen memoria, it all stops. I anxiously clipping our of bounds and sprinted the same few halls repeatedly, hammering the jump key. I, the player, spent a while idling on my phone. I waited until the last minute to see if I could make up with a character who the protagonist fumbled with in an earlier conversation (and mentioned it'd be good to make things up to her). Instead, the game just ends. Some could say my anxiety, my looking for things to do, act as a flaneur commentary intended by the game. Sure, for those first fifteen in-game minutes.
thanks, i will be back
i love the art/plushies!!! excited to see what kinds of things get added in the future. I still haven't found the skins
This was definitely worth a dollar, but until there's much more to do, I can't say it's easy to get an hour out of at the moment. My hour only came from resetting and trying to speedrun the dig box completion, which can be done easy in like maybe 5 minutes, 10 if you get real unlucky. The dialogue made me want to know more about these characters, maybe see how the short span of an hour changed things, however at the moment there's only the single set of dialogue and thoughts from Di. I will give the biggest heart eyes to the characters and how the dev implemented them, it gives the kind of 2.5d effect of the 64 to all the characters and I really enjoyed that. I also rather enjoyed the digging minigame, it reminded me of the pokemon underground minigame from gen 4. I'd be interested to see this dev continue their work on this, especially if it means more dialogue.
Di clearly wanted to apologize and the fact I currently can't is liable to make me shed a tear.
Overall, if you see this and you have a dollar, odds are you're already on the store page and you were curious, so there's really nothing to lose.
