I remember an ad I saw in a comic book back in the '90's about a tabletop RPG called Weird West that had a pic of a zombie-looking gunslinger and some text about how it was a horror/dark-fantasy western setting. Now, I'm not saying that this game is based on that tabletop/dice game but the concept and name are pretty much identical and, just like you can describe the tabletop RPG video adaptation Shadowrun as "cyberpunk-but-D&D" this one is pretty much what I expected from a western that's mixed with horror and dark fantasy. It plays more or less like you'd expect from an isometric CRPG, with an overworld map you use to travel between locations and where you can run into random encounters, main quests and side quests, gear and loot, etc. The only two main differences I can identify are divided in a minor one and a major one. The minor one is character progression, since you don't have XP and levels as such. What you have is upgrades to skills and perks that depend on finding specific items as loot that allow you to unlock them. The major difference is that, instead of a turn-based combat system like in most isometric CRPG's, you have real time action twin-stick shooter style combat. Other than that, the freedom the game allows in approaching missions through all out combat or stealth is pretty solid, and the only thing it's lacking to be comparable to other classic CRPG's is that you don't really have the option of talking your way through a quest as a high-intelligence/charisma character, since you don't really have those stats here. You do get the chance to pick sides or approach different solutions to some quests, but in scripted ways and not as a Baldur's Gate 3/Divinity Original Sin-style exercise in creativity, and the game has a somewhat higher difficulty than most CRPG's since you have very few ways and times you can upgrade your health pool and your ammo can also run out if you're careless, as opposed to say, the Shadowrun games where you do need to reload your weapons but ammo is infinite. Another interesting difference that has more to do with the narrative structure of the game is that, instead of creating your own character you'll play throughout the game and recruiting some companions, what you have is different sections of the game that star different pre-created characters that function as that section's protagonist, and the companions you recruit are more like hired mercs as opposed to the usual CRPG companion with their own storyline and so on, though once you clear a section you also have the option of recruiting any of the main characters from the previous sections you've already played to be part of your three-member posse. For instance, you start the game as Jane Bell, a former bounty hunter turned farmer who is forced to take up her guns after a gang kills her son (and their dog) and kidnaps her husband, and the first companion you can recruit is one of the deputies of your local sheriff and you later have the option to recruit an extra companion that can be someone involved in the main plot or one of the side missions or someone you hired at some town, but the next section allows you to recruit Jane as one of your companions from the get go. Really interesting game, especially given the fact that I don't think I've ever met anybody who's played it or even heard of it. I really enjoyed the different characters, since none of them were quite what I was expecting.
地圖都長一樣 寶箱躲在角落 還要自己買開鎖器備用 戰鬥也是一坨 能量調只夠放兩招 導致你明明是牛仔 但只能靠暗殺的
I love turn-based strategy games. this isn't one of them, but you can get time to slow, and can you can cheese some of the fights. If you want to movie like experience playing the game -- put the settings low. If you want a challenge just turn it up. I like it and will probably sink at least 40+ more hours into when I can
Clunky movement, boring, pale plot, bad story telling, and ridiculous enemies. Even if i added first person view mod, this game is still clunky AF...Don't waste your money and time on this.
Detailed, creative, fun, and a great setting with strong writing. This is a mix-mash of genres from Turn-based to Real-Time combat paired with RPG elements and a fantastic narrative. Quite enjoyable with many options for handling the various encounters you will experience while you play. Great graphics, tight controls, and strong voicework all come together to make this a VERY good game.
This game is... not great. I think one of the worst parts for me is how you're forced to switch characters. The only thing that differentiates each of the characters gameplay-wise is their abilities, but rather than simply being unlocked by default, you have to invest your limited skill points into them knowing you're going to lose access to them anyway. That's not to mention the pointless busywork of having to go find your previous character so you can reclaim the things in their inventory. The combat is about what you'd expect from a top-down shooter. It's super basic, and even though there are a handful of different abilities, they're all made basically obsolete by the Max Payne-style shootdodge which slows down time and gives you increased fire rate. At times, the combat can almost feel fun, but the majority of the time it’s ruined by the game’s horribly clunky controls and a camera that you have to fight almost as much as the enemies themselves. The game world is also pretty uninteresting. Rather than being a seamless open world, you navigate between areas using a 2D map, and it becomes clear pretty fast that all of these areas look basically the same and rarely ever have anything of interest in them. There are also random encounters that will occur as you travel on the 2D map, and it seems that even the developers thought these were a total waste of time since you often have the option to skip them And then there's a whole bunch of mechanics that are basically completely useless, like upgrading gear (it’s far easier to buy), cooking food, gaining/losing reputation, and recruiting followers whose sole purpose in life is to block your shots and get themselves killed as quickly as possible.
Really good game with gloomy, engrossing atmosphere. Pretty unique in some respects, as you shift your perspective across a cast of weird, diverse characters. Made by devs from Arkane, who made Prey, one of the best games ever, and it shows. It is a bit janky and has some flaws but hey, making indie games is hard and the issues are tolerable. There are also mods to solve some problems, like limited inventory space, so it is fine.
整体体验还不错,但是剧情有点拉了、所以就玩到猪人这里(妙手空空满级了
Mechanically inventive while still feeling approachable.
