Keeping in mind that I've only played the game for 1.4 hours (at the time of writing the review), This game is fantastic. The graphics are charming and run decently on my crappy PC, but it feels like there should be some more graphical options to really hone in on the minor problems. The load screens are painfully long, and there are some minor bugs with the collision between the character and the spears thrown. But other than that, it runs well, it looks good, it feels good to play, and the levels are well thought out and well executed! Really great game!
Not bad, Good actually. I was kinda surprised at the moment that this quality of game is actually free to access. Good VA, it gives you feeling of being in the place that you've never been before, which is pretty remarkable. As only there are 56 reviews for now that I'm writing this one, this game is kinda underrated and need more attention from gamers.

Köyünüzün ıssızlaşmasının ardından, Yaatra'ya doğru yürürken mızraklarınızı kullanarak devasa bir dağa tırmanarak gerçeği aramak için heyecan verici bir yolculuğa çıkın.
Probably my favorite platform game. Challenging and innovative. The difficulty of the game comes from a good balance between the puzzle aspect of the game and later on in the game, coordination and skill.
"Way To Yaatra" is a somewhat simple but genuinely made 2D retro platformer. It's light on graphics options but at least the developers didn't go the lazy way and fill this full of pixelcrap "art" or "borrowed" Unity 2D tilesets... bespoke art is charming, even if it's not going to win any awards. Being free helps. The platforming here is a bit of a letdown, it's kind of a casual, linear platformer that has you overcome a series of obstacles and climb a mountain as you deal with the aftermath of the destruction of your village. Decent voice acting too, which is a pleasant surprise. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This is a "maybe" experience... if you have a lot of free time on your hands and nothing else to do, why not? But for the purposes of a review, this isn't something I can say everyone must try. It's not quite there (but this came so very close!). Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option in reviews, but if they did, that's what I'd choose for this. And few games make me really wish there was such an option. This one did.
Rather unfair at times. Also apparently at least two bugged achievements at time of writing. Strangely one of those is positive, but I couldn't be bothered to test it. If you don't care about that this is actually fine to do for a bit.
Cool game, interesting puzzle platformer mechanic, the menu is ugly but the artstyle is cool. it reminds me a game called Shu
Way to Yaatra is a fun little game that reminds me of playing indie games on Newgrounds, but with a bit more finesse. I loved the culture and story, and the gameplay was challenging but fun. However, I did not have fun in the optional levels. The first one was fine. I may have died fifty times, but I completed it and had an amazing experience learning from my mistakes. Then I noticed it unlocked a small shortcut. However, afterwards completing the other levels didn't give me anything. Why would anyone go for risk without a reward? There's no incentive. However, it's fortunate that these levels aren't in the main path. If they were, I would be furious and leave a bad review. I will admit that they are a good test of skill. As many gamers refer to hard moments in games, I would say the challenge levels are the Dark Souls of Way to Yaatra. Like Dark Souls, you get beat up at first, learn from your mistakes twenty times over, and then complete the challenge. It's a bit hard and bewildering at first to go into a level with only silhouettes, but it also ties into memories of Donkey Kong Country Returns. In conclusion, Way to Yaatra blends deep ties to a culture that's heavily foreign to most players with challenging but rewarding gameplay. Thank you for this experience, Way to Yaatra Company.
