I really wanted to like Wave Break, as for most part it copies Tony Hawk, which is a good thing, but controls are way too clumsy to make the game enjoyable. Asked for a refund.
Sassy puns, great chill beats, quirky nostalgia for all ya'll 80s and 90s kids, occasional gratuitous violence, crazy antics, aaaand active interactive devs to play and hang out with. What's not to love?

Unfortunately a lot of small issues bubble up to the surface to make it hard to enjoy. The objectives can be hard to find when the spaces are, at times, indistinct from one area to another. The controls are fine, however some of the spaces (like the ice level) have rails so close together it can be hard to go exactly where you need to go by snapping to something you weren't expecting. The camera often doesn't show you exactly what you need to be seeing at any given moment, making scanning the space a bit of a nightmare, especially when a rail swings you out to a direction you weren't ready for and haven't had the time to take in the space. It's technically well put together but struggles mostly with feel.

didn't you play tonyhawk... why isn't there a move list.. why can't i reprogram moves... just ok
Neon, Vice, Miami. I can't bear it
Ugh, I really wanted to give this one a try because it seems like it should be so good and right up my alley; it's literally just THPS with a Miami/synthwave aesthetic and anthropomorphic animals. Unfortunately, the controls for this thing feel really off; trying to steer during a manual just absolutely destroys your balance, and you move way too floaty (which I understand because you're literally in a speedboat) but this doesn't work for a sports game where you have to be precise to get high scores and on big combo lines, along with so much of maps just being water with a couple of grind rails, with it being so hard to get onto the land parts but so easy to fall off due to your high speed and lack of precision. I've given it like an hour and completed 2 maps but it's just not gelling for me at all really. Crying shame because I was really looking forward to playing this one.
This soundtrack has an amazing game attached to it.
If every game was as rad as this I wouldn't leave my house anymore. Great vibes, great soundtrack, great gameplay. Yeah yeah, reused pattern of THPS and all the games of the kind that were there before, but it's what we needed to get with a small twist and with really cute graphics. Definitely it's a game worth playing!
